Was the minor hurling set up really that bad?
It was a funny appointment to start with, but results were middle of the road really.
Next years team should be stronger?
Will that group be stifled by current management?

I finally think I tracked down the record.
From what I can see laois have never won division 3 Celtic challenge.
They have won division 4 on a couple of occasions and never played at a higher level than division 3. It appears that this is set before the start of the competition ??
Laois team that won had 5 chaps 15 years of age and 5 16 year of age rest are at the last year of minor.
As for the ineligible player he is one of the 16s drafted into the minor panel at the last minute he is certainly not named on the minor panel . The word I got was lenister gaa him the ok to play but mayo objected at last minute.
It again come back to the shite show of the minor hurling set up..how many u16-15 year old played for 15 minutes and had there season finished not eligible to play for the rest of season.

The ineligible player was on the minor panel and had also played in at least one minor game in the Leinster Championship scoring a point

The rules were very clear

You come on in the minor championship, you can't play in the Celtic Challenge
