Are we getting away from the fact that feckin' Celine Dion is playing Croker and not Gaelic games. but I guess its a matter of bums on seats and as can be seen from last week the GAA just doesnt bring in the punters,

Well,  i was thinking the same thing. someone has to be bottom of the pile. We cant keep changing everything everytime someone gets a hammering. Look at the hurling championship, the reason teams are getting milled out of it is because they are shite. Constantly shifting the championship structure every other year is doing nothing only turning the competition into a farce. If you want to beat teams like Kilkenny or Kerry you have to be more skillful, fitter, athletic, determined & more tactically astute. Nothing to do with the number of games.

Not the standard of opposition, its the standard you set yourself

I like Keiran McGeaney and it was sad to hear him questioning himself when interviewed but I have to say Kildare were really, really awful. It reminded me of their teams pre-Micko. I dont think this attack on both Mick O'Dwyer and Kieran for being merchenaries is justified or fair. Why the hell should Wicklow or any county be forced to appoint managers from within if better is available from elsewhere.

I didnt think the gulf in teams would be so vast. OK Carlow were missing a few but it looked like they werent even trying at times. Wexford game will be a better test of our mettle. If there was a good thing about it was at least we didnt make hard work of Carlow or kicked 100 wides. But in all honesty both Coyle and his players (and probably the Carlow team too) would be better off wiping that game from memory as we wont play a game as easy as that for another 10 years.

Was impressed by Brian Meade and Damian Sheridan when he came on. Good to see Brian Farrell taking the field again.

Looks like a good team alright, although I have my concerns for the full back line in the long run though, I think we should overcome Carlow. Was reading Graham Geraghtys article in the Meath Post, and even he was saying if we dont beat Carlow we might as well pack up and give it up. Strange to see someone being honest rather than going "Oh, Carlow are a good team, and we'll need to be on our guard, no-ones taking it for granted....etc"

I'd actually like to see a debate on this, on national TV, like Q&A, where we can get both sides to sit down. People like the teachers and parents in this case, Unionist party members, GAA representitives like people on the Ulster council, Nicky Brennan, Cumann na mBunscoil, Education ministers.

Get them to sit down and really talk about this case. It really needs to be addressed, we've had this debate a million times on here, but I dont recall much ever happening by the heads of the GAA or by anyone for that matter. No one has tackled the issue head on, people have just danced around it and used it as a political football when they needed it.

Its time to start visibly doing something rather than making the usual noises and doing nothing!

more like "Will ye go Lassie, go!"

Once again soccer hooliganism raises its head. Fans turning into wild apes, the excuse this time is the TV's wouldnt work. You have to love that mindset. Then they have the audacity to blame the authorities. Well actually they are right, its the authorities fault for letting these animals congregate by providing big TV's.

Well done to the cops, couldnt hit them hard enough

Good to have the music back, even if its a gay version of its former self.

Yeah, its not as good as the original, theres some backing vocals on it from what I heard that just dont sit right. Like some blokes humming the tune in the back-ground

I don't know Juice, some people just can't let GAA tv shows move on. ;)

Hey you! stop that,

Watched it last night online, it would be a big improvement if they just got rid of Spillane, all the graphics and new studio layouts wont make a difference if he's there.

If you read the gutter press in England you wouldn't even know the tournament was on, typical xenophobic outlook from them.
At least we can all enjoy this one safe in the knowledge the shower are not even in it.

Wow, what a statement, I wonder did it get a mention in the Irish press this week. Sorry I dont want to bring this off topic and into a silly arguement but the above deserves to be put on a plinth.
