Quote from: lurganblue on April 22, 2024, 10:50:45 PMCivil War is pretty good. Has some hard hitting scenes. Hard to imagine them making a film about half of America hating the president before the Trump era.

It's definitely worth a watch. 7/10

Do/did half of America really hate Trump? Or  do the media just  like to portray that's the case to get  rid of him/stop him getting  in again?

In any case , a lot of America don't seem to like  Genocide Joe either., especially since  his support for all things  Israel

Yes, Trump failing to win 50% of the vote in two successive elections is merely a media narrative.

I finally got to the cinema to see Dune 2. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I think it was up a step from the first part. There are maybe some scenes that could be cut to shorten the film but I wouldnt change it. It's a cinematic spectacle at times.

I look forward to more in the franchise.

Just finished both, completely (in my head) so much better than the original

Plot good, even better knowing it is older than Star Wars and predates Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward's Tremors ;)

I tend to watch these long features in hour viewings, primarily as her indoors wouldn't watch the trailer never mind 5 minutes, so when she pops off to bed, I'll get a hour!

So unoriginal that part about giant worms. Really sloppy.

Took my boys to see Fall Guy.
They loved it and obviously didn't get the references to the original series.
It's a bit of fun, solid 6/10 with some nostalgia thrown in for good measure.

I loved Tremors  ;D

Tremors or The Fall Guy?

Fall Guy isn't brilliant, but I liked the nostalgia element. My lads really enjoyed it, aged 11 and 16,

Legally Blonde (the original) and White Chicks are my guilty pleasures.

I enjoyed Fall Guy for what it was... a bit of a laugh and some action scenes. Easy viewing. The music added to the film IMO. very well chosen

Watched 'Bring Him to Me'

Really enjoyed it.

Watched that Amy Winehouse movie, was ok not great. You get the feeling that the acting is a bit hammy but in fairness Amy & Blake whatever he's  called were 2 OTT mockney knobheads so the acting could be spot on!

Tony Baloney

Brats on Disney+ worth a watch for those of you of a certain age.
