I would agree with that, he maybe scored a few cracking premiership goals after that, but he never reached those heights again internationally, but it's all about opinions.  I would say the same for Keane, 1999 he was probably the most influential player in europe, after that he was immense for ireland in qualifying for 02, he could have went on to true greatness, but chose not to.  For Utd he was mostly excellent, but they never did much of note on a european stage at that time.  On reflection, I'll maybe give you Keane, but definitely not Bergkamp ;D
