Belatedly I decided to reflect on the thread content this evening. I now feel I got carried away in my defense of the indefensible and wish to apologise unreservedly to my the boy in question, his parents, the producers of the Late late Show and my fellow posters who felt in any way appalled at my line of opinion. I retract any statement and argument I made and wish to state that bullying is neither invited or deserved and is a heinous and cruel act which should be rightly condemned.

I allowed my own life experience to cloud my judgement and hope that my indiscretion will not prejudice my credibility as a poster in the future.

Yours, humbly,
Caughtredhanded

Why dont you answer the questions put to you?

They have no relevance to the point I made.

Seriously lads, I didn't like the segment. I thought we were being fed that young fella as a humourous filler and it wasn't right. His parents may be proud of him and rightly so but I'm not convinced he would be taken seriously by many of his peers.

If any of you are inferring that I may have some homophobic aversion to a young chap being interested in fashion and standing with his hands on his hips you are 100% wrong.

He expects the child's parents to be as ignorant as him!
A child of about 10 bringing bullying on himself, jesus christ.

Lets be mature about this, as i've stated bullying is disgusting and cowardly. It doesn't change the fact however that bullying is endemic in our schools and many parents may not be aware that their children are bullies.

It is a fact that many bullies have been the subject of bullying themselves and target the vulnerable in an effort to lessen their self loathing.

To stick out is to invite unwelcome attention from bullies. That is a fact, no matter how distasteful it seems.

I suffered grievously from bullying at school and its affects lived with me for years. I respect your view however I stand by my opinion.
I'm not grabbing your opinion at all.

Don't be who you are, don't be outside certain social guidelines.

Bullies will always be bullies. He is a kid, "a creepy kid" you think but he's a kid.

I don't expect you to agree with me and the 'creepy kid' label may have been flippant however the whole scenario wan't right. I spoke to several people on Saturday who thought it was inappropriate.

So what exactly would you have this child's parents do?

Not much they can do now, the stable door is flapping in the wind.
Their intentions were undoubtably good however they may regret them. Child 'experts'can be endearing to adults however they can become the object of ridicule. The case of James Harries (the child antiques expert) is an extreme example.

Always bugged me, creeped me out for as long as i can remember, it seems to me that hes very camp, which sits uneasy with me to start with, but when he goes to inroduce 'whats happening on the street' he just turns supercamp!

While we're on grindin gears and campness, i feel this clip is appropriate. Its just not right.. not sure if any of yas seen it..

In hindsight maybe so but he's seriously making life very difficult for himself. Bullying is a disgusting and cowardly thing but you don't invite it on. His parents should have had a bit of cop on.
Arse about face thinking in my view.

How so?

The Belfast boys are not pleased with the country culchies being bussed into Belfast and trying to tell them what to do and how to do it.

Trouble is the culchies still dream of a pre '69 'Ulster' where Catholics knew their place and the 'white trash' prods followed the bowler hat brigade.

Livin' in the past that bunch, Elliott is conducting the Orange band on the deck of the Ark Royal. They're practically bust financially, another electoral catastrophe will finish them off.

So who they vote for then in Kesh, Lack or Ballinamallard?

Good question, they will probably parade some 'great white hope' who reminds them of Harry West and his ilk only to have him humiliated at the polls by the slicker SF machine. The big house unionists still havn't fully accepted that we're all a bit more politically literate and sophisticated now. Just trotting out the stereotypical war hero with a well cultivated moustache and public school accent does not elect an MP.

I know a lot of people who traditionally voted UUP who now feel conned by their readiness to change hats when it suited.

The UUP over the last number of years has been one slow moving car crash and I for one have very little sympathy. They alienated their own electorate with 'big house' Unionism and then flirted with the DUP and the tories in turn. They have no credibility as a political entity and their relevance is gone as an antidote to the DUP and its nihilism.

I also can't help being amused as to the debate on who's the most Taig friendly, my suspicion is that the GAA issue is a hobby horse for political capital. Why should we give a monkey's who would sit at the Ulster final? It never bothered us before, why now?

-9.5 verified outside Cookstown last night. I've to be down that direction in the morning and I'm leaving very early.

Its the other lunatics I worry about on the roads. (1) they think an indicator is a fancy decoration or something just to be used as you complete the manouvre and (2) They think the braking capability of a car in snow can defy the laws of physics.

Totally baffled by this, how would any FF polititian have the balls to walk into the middle of a crowd right now. I'd automaticly assume they would want to 'bate the lining outa yeh'
