I'm liking what Da Bears are doing in this draft. Linebacker looked a big weakness when the got rid of Roach and didn't re-sign Urlacher but now there's a lot of talent there. The terrible O-line troubles have been addressed - there will be serious competition for all spots now - produce or go. Some holes still but a decent offseason so far.

Intriguing pick by Niners taking Marcus Lattimore, could be a great pick if he recovers fully from the knee injury.

Beautiful scenario for the 49ers. They have so many picks and so few needs they can take risks like this. If this works out it will be great for them and they are one of the few who could afford to take the risk.

Really impressed with the 49ers dealing in the draft from what knowledge I have. Money going on now. Also Kansas for dark horse to make Play-offs

Their first round pick was a real dodgy one. High pick with very little football behind him.

That said haven't kept an eye on their later picks.

Intriguing draft by Raiders. Shafted on the 1st round trade down by the Dolphins but still picked up potentially the best CB in the draft.

The English lad Watson could be a real star based on his physical / athletic ability but has only 20 or so actuall games under his belt.

Tyler Wilson was flying under the radar after a poor season but could be the next Favre.

Prob still not enough for a winning season but a move in the right direction.

Tebow released by Jets.

Wonder will there be any takers?

Somebody will probably give him another chance but looks like he could well be out of football entirely in not too distant future.

Injury-riddled Lakers swept by the Spurs in the first round of playoffs. They've had their problems all season long and losing a player of Kobe's ability (regardless of opinions of him) at end of season would hurt any team. The acquisition of Howard and Nash was supposed to make them a contender again but this season has been an unmitigated disaster.

Durant came up big for the Thunder the other night in Westbrook's absence. Can't see them outlasting the Spurs without him and even if Durant manages it somehow, they'll have no hope against the Heat.

Big news on the twittersphere - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/.

Once again the GAA is ahead of the game.

It's been a transformative few years in the US with respect to gay rights. Collins is just the first active athlete who will go public. Good to see prejudice being faced down!

The phrase 'ill advised' springs to mind.

way to go Mike Wallace

Absolutely golden.

I don't understand that either, so now if you think homosexuality is wrong you are castigated as a bigot, how is that right?

Fair play to Collins for coming out but haven't American sports stars done than in the past? Navratilova & BJK spring to mind.

Given that two wemen have done it in the past is it not wrong to hold Collin's up as some sort of hero when two aul dolls did it back in the 70's? Gender equality and all that! :P
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

I just love Mike's simple logic. He comes across as a pretty harmless fella who loves the ladies, not a bigot. It tells you more about him than about the issue.

Huge difference between a woman coming out and a man, though, that much should be as read.

BJK was outed after her career was over, she didn't come out. Big difference.

You are of course right - you and anyone else who believes homosexuality is wrong are the story and the victims here.  :-\

Those who doth protest too much often have something to hide themselves. You sure you're not hiding anything, Stew?
