Hound

Looking for some NFL off season gossip. Kid is a big Cardinals fan. He's only followed it for one full year really but got mad into it. Larry Fitzgerald is his fav sports star bar none, and he thinks their defence is top notch but he thinks both the QBs they used this year are rubbish.

Is there any liklihood to be any truth in the rumours of Peyton Manning going to Arizona next season?

Doubt it Hound, Cardinals have to pay Kolb a $7m bonus in next few weeks and apparently they are going to pay it so they won't be paying two QBs starters money.

Well the Knicks finally lose to the 2nd worse team in the league. Their next few games are pretty tough

Sun 19    vs Dallas
Mon 20    vs New Jersey
Wed 22    vs Atlanta
Thu 23    @ Miami
Wed 29    vs Cleveland
Sun 04    @ Boston
Tue 06    @ Dallas
Wed 07    @ San Antonio

Very poor first quarter performance put them in trouble. NO were quite effective in closing off the paint to Lin's penetrating runs and forcing them to shoot outside and the Knicks shooting just wasn't good last night. Could have used Carmello Anthony badly as he's a superb shooter and he would have drawn the double-team, opening up things for the rest.

This wasn't how I got over the 2001 final

You're a Patriots fan. It's February 5th, 2012, at 11 p.m., and you've just watched your team lose to the New York Giants for the second time in five years. You've just seen Tom Brady's last-second hail mary attempt land harmlessly in the endzone, and that team from New York celebrate on a field covered in confetti — again. The guests at your Super Bowl party have all filtered out of your home, but you're still sitting there in a haze of post-game disappointment. What do you do?

You look at porn. Lots and lots of porn.

According to a press release from Pornhub, there was a marked spike in web traffic from Massachusetts to porn sites following the Patriots' Super Bowl 46 loss to the Giants. Via SI.com's Jimmy Traina:

According to the statisticians from PornHub, right after the heartbreaking New England loss, Massachusetts natives flocked to the site, with a 22% spike at 11PM (EST) and a 33% spike at 12AM (EST), while New York went only up 16% and 32%, respectively.
That 32% spike for New York in the 12AM hour is telling. It means they waited a little longer than New Englanders to go for the porn, but they eventually ended up there, too. Which kind of brings new gravity to the whole "Are those sad tissues or happy tissues?" question.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Eventually they get the Daytona 500 going and after 1 lap smash!  Could be a long night!

RealSpiritof98

Did you see Montoya smash, holy shit, lucky to be alive.

Carmen Stateside

Montoya a very lucky man as was the driver of the safety truck.
Was a decent race, carried on a little long due to the Montoya smash but got a few pound out of it as had no. 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr who finished second.

Do any of ye follow the local American Football scene, been told to get the mortgage on Dublin -4.5 v Tullamore, any info welcome.

That would be the Dublin Dragons Vs the newly promoted Tullamore Phoenix.

Bear in mind that the Dragons lost every game last year and scored about 5 TDs in the whole season. The Dragons even when I played for them back in 2004 were not very good and got beat by teams playing in their first competitive season.

So I wouldn't call it a safe bet by any means.

That said I have been out of the IAFL loop for a number of years though I still keep an eye on it from afar.

,

Sorry its the other way round. betting suspended anyway, the team that was promoted is the fancied team, do they play 8 a side in the lower Div.

thejuice

Yeah, in the top tier its 11-a-side with 2 divisions North and South.

The lower tier is called DV8. Its an 8-a-side league for teams that have just formed and don't have a full squad developed or in some cases if an 11-a-side team loses a lot of players they can drop down to DV8 to rebuild and still have competitive games.

Sorry, I'm not sure off all the + and - of betting as I really don't do it other than the Grand National.
