It looks like a strong team on paper at any rate. Hopefully, we will get off to a good start.

Brilliant win tonight for the lads, a welcome boost before our qualifier game. Biggest win ever by a Laois team I would imagine ... ? ?

Fantastic result. I didn't get to the game myself due to work but that's some scoreline - 33point win. I'll certainly be at the next one. Noel D is clearly doing well in charge so far, I like his optimism too in his interview and no harm being confident going into the Q. Final.

Louth are playing Wexford in the minor championship next week so i would expect they were very depleted tonight. Anyway well done to all involved this evening.

Laoisguy

I was at the game

Didn't realise Louth are out next week in the minor

I thought Laois did well in the conditions Coffey and mccaul taking on their respective markers leading to early scores and goals which killed off Louth early on

Some of Louth defenders looked like they were stunned after first goal really

You don't want to highlight specific players but 2,3,4,7,8,11,13,14 all impressed

Workmanlike aswell good attitude and great for these lads to get a win

they were missing 3 minor starters I heard
Well I could keep it above
But then it wouldn't be sky anymore

Laoisguy

Management set up seems very tuned in ,active and cohesive also

Great to see subs performing when give the chance

Unlaoised

Louth were missing 6 players so maybe we can take the scoreline in context after that but Laois played well and had some fine performers in

Jack Owens he looks a classy player but can improve with an improved work rate off the ball as he won't get it as easy the next time.

Damien Mccaul from annanough looked composed and scored a nice goal.

Dowling the corner back from Portlaoise was solid as was saunders of the same club

Captain colin slevin looks the part aswell...

was impressed with Cian doyle from courtwood who came on for last ten minutes looks a real composed player.

So many changes it was hard to keep track.

a step in the right direction but I woudn't be getting carried away by the scoreline!

Is there an All Ireland series in this or does it finish with a Leinster final?
The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

The highly-regarded Laois U-17 football team have been handed a home draw against Longford in the Leinster quarter-final – which will take place in O'Moore Park next Wednesday night.

This is the first year of the U-17 competition – but it will be the main inter-county underage competition from next season onwards as the U-18 grade is being abolished.
Laois proved far too strong for Louth in the opening round but Louth's attention was firmly on this year's minor team who will play Dublin in next week's Leinster final.

The other quarter-final games in the U-17 championship see Kildare at home to Wexford, Dublin at home to Westmeath and Meath at home to Carlow.

Nice team I hear. Looking forward to seeing them Wednesday night. Couldn't make the Louth game.
