Liverpool have the sixth best squad in the league.  Last year was an overperformance by Liverpool and it created unrealistic expectaion among fans and pundits alike.

The Celts will struggle to get the ball of Arsenal.  After watching the 3-0 dismantling of the Scottish League champions 2008/2009 in the Emirates Cup by a 17 year old, Scotlands second best team should hold no fears.  Always difficult to beat at fortress Parkhead though....

Surely Arsenal could squeeze more than £20 million out of City for Adebayor.  In fairness I would take hand and all of the Sheikhs at this stage after the way he played last season.  The beat on the street is that Marouane Chamakh is lined up to come in from Bordeaux.  Would prefer to use some of the funds to sign Felipe Melo from Udinese to add some steel to midfield.

I think the Gallas injury has been a massive blow.  We haven't defended without him, the long unbeaten league run built on 0-0's and 1-0's when we weren't creating alot of chances was built on a solid foundation with Gallas the rock.  For all his deficiencies as a captain he is a top class defender who sees the danger early and has good positional sense.

I see on the Arsenal website, Wenger wants one or two players but doesn't know what funds will be available.  We need a top class centre back and defensive midfielder.  Chiellini of Juventus and Yaya Toure would do just fine.

Big game against Wigan.  A good physical test for a young midfield who had an average age of just over 20 on Tuesday night.  Any thoughts on a starting midfield?  Do you perservere with the both Song and Denilson as defensive midfielders.  If so one from Walcott, Nasri and Arshavin will miss out as Fabregas is a certainty.

Thought the crowd treatment of Bendtner was bad form yesterday.  He misses an awful lot of chances but he's only 21 and still learning his trade....between this and the eboue incident, makes me think the prawn sandwhich brigade are out in force at the Emirates this season.

Great performance from the team though, Arshavin looks the business.

My all-in-one internet security package is slowing my laptop to a crawl and the laptop is nearly new.  It seems to be constantly working in the background and hogging system resources.  Does anyone know of a way to speed up my machine or any free firewall/anti-virus tools that would be a bit lighter on the system?

A touch of the Canizares at the 2002 World Cup-dropped a bottle of aftershave on his foot and missed the whole thing!

Muldoon is a big loss to Ballinderry, can't see flu keeping McCusker out though!

Great read this week, didn't think they could fill the pages at this time of year.  Article on Malawi was very interesting.
