Aussies are playing at home in conditions familiar to them. A good few of the squad will have been playing Sheffield Shield cricket in the run up to the Ashes. England are off the plane a couple of weeks ago and have only a couple of games amongst themselves under their belts. There was a time a touring team would have three or four quality games under their belts before a showcase tour like this

Not a defence of England just a lamenting of the lack of competitive series with easy home wins becoming more frequent... India's recent performances not withstanding

Probably fair enough a lot of what you are saying but England's batting problem run long past this series. They are too reliant on root.  Adding on heaping a lot of unnecessary hype onto Ben stokes (I'm a big fan btw) hasn't help them.

After crashing out to Namibia ffs in the T20 world cup, Ireland now reach a new low and lose to USA. Can we be stripped of test status because it's all getting a bit ridiculous.

Absolutely dismal stuff from England there. Couldn't even make Australia bad again. Be a few boys given the road after this tour.

Think they need to recruit more from South Africa, India and Ireland.

Why is Ireland still planning to play cricket against Afghanistan? Should they not withdraw in response to the Taliban removing girls from schools?

The Afghan government have reversed a decision, now preventing girls from attending school.
I take it that you are indulging in whataboutery after international boycotts aplenty being enacted against Russian sports?

I don't 'indulge' in anything sonny. I wonder if the Taliban follow colonial sports like cricket.

Afghanistan is Pakistan's bitch these days. Something to do with countering India. Nothing to do with the Raj.

I found this amusing. I don't see what all the fuss is about. The English girl is quite clearly taking the piss and trying to get a massive head start on her run so just deserves all she gets and will certainly know not to do it again ;D

I think its a historical thing, this would have been an unfair dismissal until the rules changed about a year ago.  Going back the likes of England, Australia, New Zealand, SA would have decreed a dismissal like this as certainly disrespectful if not cheating and you'd have been expected to have a word with the non striker before attempting it.  The like of India, Pakistan Sri Lanka etc saw it as a legitimate response to cheating from non striker.  To finish a potentially close game and win a series like this has just brought the dispute back front and centre.

Ireland comfortably beaten today. If Stirling doesn't get going then things don't end well these days

Great win against the windies after some comeback against Scotland. The team can be frustratingly inconsistent. Hopefully a couple more scalps to come in the super 12's
