This weekend.
They couldn't have had a double header there?

Armagh extremely unlucky to not win at least 1 of those pen shootouts this last 2 years. I think McGeeney  is getting thr best out of what he has at his disposal. Can anyone else get anymore I doubt it to be honest. Kildare thought a change if management would push them on but it didn't, McGeeney got the best out of them also. Armagh should stick with him in my opinion. And I'm not an Armagh man. Your competitive with every team you go up against. Can't ask for much more than that.

Quote from: downtothecore on May 12, 2024, 05:51:58 PMU20s grinded out a deserved win in a tight game. Some brilliant scores in the last 10 minutes by both sides but in fairness the switches made by the down management proved to be the difference.
Good win for the lads, Mayo are never easy to beat. Westmeath in the final.

Quote from: gallsman on May 10, 2024, 02:56:15 PMWell it's the lodges/villas I meant. I wouldn't be one for the aul tent now. Fond of my air con and instant hot water. Iberian finals are in Salou next Saturday with a bank holiday on the Monday so we're going down and staying for a few days.

Sanguli is the best Eurocamp I've been to by a fair bit. Class spot!!

Heading to Cambrils this year and interested to see how it compares to Marina di Venezia.
Cambrils is fantastic. Been 5 times. Kids love it.

I didnt get to Newry yesterday. But sounded like a routine win yesterday. Limerick tried to flood the defence to keep the score down. Anyone make an impression? How did Ben McConville play. McKibben and McGovern both got a few scores. London up next who demolished Offaly in Tullamore. The group stage doesn't get the imagination going.

Quote from: pbat on May 11, 2024, 10:56:12 AMArmagh/Donegal play next Sunday in the Ladies Ulster final, would it have been that hard to agree a financial arrangement with the Ladies to get a few quid from tomorrows gate and have a double header?
That would be too much like common sense for the GAA to do.

City wouldn't have the fanbase UTD have so could give as many tickets away as thry like. Season ticket holders should get 1st preference.
A story you don't see published is the United team paid for all the tickets for the ladies teams families to go to Wembley this Sunday, that is 30 tickets a player. Yes its a drop in thr ocean for multi millionairres but they didn't have to do it.

Leo Murphy cup

It's a relegation trophy, a B c'ship, for teams who were put out early. They beat Antrim and Fermanagh to win it!

Your some boy for the negatives. Did you look at the group they were in? Played both finalists, should've beat Tyrone who won ulster.
Thry now play Mayo in a SF. It's all about game time. More games these lads play, the better. Winning a b championship is better than winning nothing.

GAA Discussion / Re: Tailteann Cup 2024

Quote from: trueblue1234 on May 08, 2024, 08:32:17 AMAs shown by this thread the big driver to the Tailteann Cup is that it's open for so many to get a run at it. Most of the counties in it could have a say if they get a bit of luck and a run going. We've had Wicklow, Laois, Antrim, Fermanagh, Down, Sligo, Kildare all tipped. If marketed right, this has potential. Makes a big difference from the AI run in!
Potential for a very competitive competition. But it won't be promoted. Will get 2 minutes on the Sunday game and we will only see it  at semi final stage. The GAA don't do promotion unless it's the Munster hurling championship. The 3 games for 30 euro is a good deal. But if your Down a trip to London should maybe be taken out and a 2 games at a tenner each offered.

If by some miracle Utd beat Arsenal. Then Arsenal just aren't good enough.

Quote from: Blowitupref on May 06, 2024, 07:16:44 PMAll Ireland B semi finals are on this weekend also.  inaugural staging of that competition

This Saturday
Westmeath v Limerick in Semple Stadium, Thurles at 1pm

On Sunday
Down v Mayo in Breffni park at 1pm

Embarrassing that Mayo were let into that competition. There are plenty of weaker counties that this competition would mean more to.

Down are also in it, after winning 2 of last 3 Ulsters. It gives players more game time. I think that's the objective here. Down drew with Tyrone and should've beat them in group. But have had a few poor outings so are where they deserve to be.

Mount was dreadful as per usual. I said when utd bought him it was a waste of money. He couldn't get in a terrible Chelsea team last season. City will win the Cup final with ease, it could be 6 or 7 nil. These guys have no heart or desire.

Could they use div 1 in the hurling league as some championship incentive. Most of the Munster teams are in it anyway. The league is like a mini munster championship. Get rid of this cup that provincial. Before they know it they will have very few games.
