Watching Geelong v Carlton on espn..cracker, not bad entertainment for a saturday lunchtime!

Watched the last 20 mins or so of this also. Very good stuff.

Have to say the standard of football I saw was light years away from the AFL not so long ago. Those boys who take the kick outs have some pressurized job in finding one of their own. The players also seem to have trimmed down alot.......... maybe to do with the increased speed and mobility required.

Thought the standard of play was excellent too, have to be impressed on how they can find their men with a hand pass with lads hanging out of them usually.

This 13 for Carlton is a tidy player.

And he scores his third. He has a great style of running with the ball.

Some speed there! Chris Yarran!

Ha, it's unreal. Just listening to commentator and he was saying this was one of the bigger pitches. Surely with it being a professional sport all pitches would be the same size?

Not necessarily, think there is a maximum and minimum requirements....Ala the old Highbury/Dell and Villa Park for example in the premiership.

Here's a question for Aerlilk.
What's the story with the dressing rooms, surely they can give them seats, why do they have to sit on the ground?

Carmen Stateside

Was thinking the very same thing!
Your probably right about pitch size.

"A right foot banana".  So Stevie O Neills point last week was a left foot banana!

Trying to keep an eye on Zach Tuohy from Laois, number 42 for Carlton.

Their kicking lets them down in AFL regularly. For professional athletes who have been playing with the oval ball all their lives, amazing the the amount of times they stick free kicks with no pressure for a behind. Fair enough in open play on the run it's difficult. Fielding, fitness, tackling and general skills with their hands are fantastic, kicking just lets them down IMO!

Darby would have been proud of that push. Deserved to miss. Awful effort!
