One thing Gerrard doesn't do is shit the pants. Reference last Tuesday for the most recent example. Anyone who says that hasn't a clue.

However, he shouldn't be an automatic start every game. The penny will drop with Rodgers soon, but I don't think under any circumstance you can play Steven Gerrard and Lucas in the same team any more.

A lot of pressure on now in the derby game but fear not. Everton always seem to fill their togs in Anfield.

Stevie plays the fighting underdog coming from behind  role brilliantly but didn't have the stomach for being a league champion elect with 4 games to go. Completely filled tthe togs in the run in. Went from Mr Dominator to Mr Couldn't defend fior shit once the title was in sight!

Sturridge apparently will be back which will be welcome.

Some of our northern brethren seem to have this fascination with faeces meeting cloth. It even happened again in the very next post after yours.

Can anyone explain this fascination?

The lack of urgency and intensity this season, bar the spurs game, has been very strange. They don't look like they realise they are in a competitive game.  Two one down with 5 mins to go and passing the ball back and sideways going nowhere, doesn't make much sense.  Waiting for someone, anyone, to do something to kickstart the rest of them, be it a tackle, a run, a shot, whatever.  There's a malaise that's kicked into the side and Rodgers needs to sort it quick.   Disappointed that Gerard has shown little leadership the past few games in setting the tempo for the team and urging the rest on. Haven't seen anything from him in the league games to date.  It's pretty discouraging to see the likes of Lucas and Borini start in games. I honestly can't see us getting any points in games that Lucas starts. He seems to be able to bring the game down to the tempo he's comfortable with, which is reverse gear.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Not exactly a man for the trenches.

We'll finish seventh, on 62 points.

But we'll win the Champions League and deny fourth placed Manchester United a place in that competition for next season.  ;D

You're great craic
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Some great results today. Defeats for Spurs Everton and Man u and a draw between City and Chelsea mean we don't fall too far behind as a result of the hammers defeat.

Good results indeed but doesn't hide the fact we are awful at the minute. Sturridge and Allen (didn't think I'd ever say that) can't return quick enough

Or an opportunity missed......

This. It's hard to put a positive spin on yesterday, other than it could have ended up worse.

No positives from yesterday. Very poor defensively, toothless around the box.

Rodgers has developed the team before in similar circumstances, at least offensively. Let's hope he can do it again. Of course, we will see now how much he did or did not depend on Suarez.
