GAA Discussion / Re: Joe Brolly Endorsing Drugs?

The one thing I hate about the association is the amount of self righteous pioneers floating about it. Some people like having a beer - get over it. As for the title of this post including the word Drugs that's deliberately emotive, yes alcohol is a drug but framing the piece in the way you're deliberately indulging in the kind of sensationalism that were so regularly slate journalists for.

Nally Stand I think it is allowable to take the piss out of people for their religious beliefs. If your faith is so weak as to be unable to bear a few smart arse remarks then it's not worth a pish.
The whole argument that you can't take the hand out of someone's religious beliefs is entirely subjective. Take for instance Scientology, most Christians will happily take the piss out of it with it's stories of aliens etc, but in truth it's no less farcical than a yarn about a man who was born of virgin, could walk on water and rose from the dead.
Religious belief is delusional and I reserve the right to mercilessly rip the pish out of it.

Ref had a decent game on Sunday night.
If he'd wanted to he could have got all Christy Cooney on it blown 50 frees and booked about 20-odd players in the first half when it was hot and heavy.
Got the major calls right, the penalty, letting Crook go on to score second Ballinderry goal etc, didn't see the sending off incident but he was acting on advice of his umpires for that one anyway.

Yet again these full-time paid officials treat us with the paying punt with contempt. How the f**k do they continually get away with this shite. The Ulster Clowncill

Well the silence has been deafening on this one, usually you could rely on someone somewhere to have said something about the visit.

Yes we have the right to dissent as individual members but county boards across the country were instructed that there was to be not a single word of comment on this.
I don't see why our elected officials have to be gagged in this manner.

For me the big issue here is not so much the visit but rather the way that our new squires at Croke Park have decreed that no dissenting voices be heard among the association.
I really couldn't give a flying f**k about these inbred anachronisms, I ceratinly won't be protesting against it. I do however resent the fact that we have to pretend that we are delighted about it.

Gallsman Nordie is definitely a term of abuse, you won't hear it used about folk from Donegal even if they hail from Malin
