Anyone any recent experience/advice of building an extension? Is using an off site company (build & crane into position) usually very costly?

Not sure if I want the hassle of sorting tradesmen myself but costs will likely determine that.

Irish govt to commit 400 million. Has the executive any idea of what is available? Surely theres data on the accident black spots - assume Ballygawley to Omagh stretch? Spend the money on those sections first!

Quote from: lurganblue on February 16, 2024, 06:22:46 PMI had been disappointed in Masters of the Air. Certainly not on Band of Brothers or Pacific levels. The latest episode was really good though. Hopefully that trend continues

+1 very disappointed so far. Nothing will ever touch Band of Brothers for me. Greatest series of all.

Do Trillick players now go to Omagh? Was there not a history of them going to Enniskillen? Think the Donnelly's n Brennan's went there?

If so is this something Tyrone GAA are pushing. Keeping players within the county? St Pius' doesn't seem to attract loughshore players like it once used to. All seem to go to Holy Trinity now.

Carla the tout?

4 Belfast schools in McLarnon 1/4 finals. Surely that's a good sign?

Maghera and Omagh not the teams to beat going by previous years? Maghera missing their best player in Danny McDermott. Injured for Glen in Ulster club semi final.

Quote from: seafoid on November 30, 2023, 08:32:45 AMThe Euros are a bit of a distraction to cover up the delays I think. Ireland is strange in that the 3 main sports all have to build their own infrastructure.  One reason is because all the power is centralised. There is also the history of non cooperation between sports and the ban.  In other countries like France the city builds the infrastructure and different teams use it . If this was in Cork or Belfast  for example there would be one 50,000 stadium built by the city and used by hurling, football, rugby and soccer. This model is much better. It would work very well in Belfast. The city would get concert profits to support other projects. In Ireland the GAA builds its own stadia. Páirc Uí Chaoimh does not get enough matches... It is the problem child of Irish stadia .

It happens in Uk, it happens in Italy, It happens in USA. It happens in loads of countries the world over. The idea that it's an Irish problem is nonsense.

Are those Italian stadiums not owned by the city councils? hence the ground sharing - albeit AC Milan looking to move from San Siro. Pretty sure Stade de France is city owned too hence useable for range of sports from rugby to moto cross etc.
