Why are you concerned about people lifting a few pairs of shoes that cost $5 to get made in China? I'd rather it didn't happen but not high on my list of priorities compared to police killing people.

Leo has finally recommended the wearing of face coverings on busy public transport and in busy enclosed areas such as shops. Out of interest how many on here have worn face coverings while in busy shops?

I haven't and I wont be either. Expert advice up to last week said masks are not advised and now suddenly they are. It's to do with giving people a warm fuzzy sense of security. I'll be visiting shops at quiet times with no mask as that is the safest way to proceed.

That advice in most countries was because people didn't have any masks or none were available. I'm definitely wearing one in a shop. It not just about you, the people who work there have exposure from multiple people every day. Even with a home made mask, if it only 20% effective that's a lot better than nothing.

Bearbrook (start of family DNA), Dirty John, Man in the Window (Golden State killer) , Murder book, Running from Cops (about the making of the show Cops) all US true crime. "Root of Evil" crazy show about a crazy family possibly linked to Black Dahlia case.

"The Dark North" is great show about mafia in Montreal - someone mentioned "Crimetown" it's a bit similar to that, but with insane French Canadian bikers.

BBC show 'Shreds' really good on police corruption, false convictions etc set in Wales. Really good.

A lot of the podcasts I listen to have already been mentioned on the thread, but I find the following good:

- That Peter Crouch podcast: He seems like a funny down to earth guy and the other 2 aren't afraid to pull him up on things that he takes for granted
- Quickly Kevin, will he score: Excellent 90s football podcast with comedian Josh Widdicombe.
- Irish History podcast with Fin Dwyer
- The 2 Johnnies podcast: This may be old news, but I just found out about these lads recently (I live in Australia) and enjoying their podcast
- The David McWilliams podcast: Find his stuff intriguing. He talks about wide ranges of topics and links it back to economics. Don't need to know anything about economics to enjoy
- Casefile: A good true crime podcast. Produced in Australia, so has an Aussie bias to the crimes they cover, but have done a lot of the bigger worldwide stories like the moors murders etc. If you want to know all the details about Ivan Milat (backpacker murders) or Daniel Morcombe (13 year old that disappeared - how they caught the killer is too unbelievable even for a movie)
- GAA hour with Colm Parkinson: I wasn't a Woolly fan before I started listening, but this is an essential GAA resource. Detailed reviews of games. Any bias are usually stated so you can take it into account. And generally neither the bland 'don't want to offend anyone' type analysis nor the personal attacks (though Parkinson does sometimes use the podcast to further his spats with the likes of Brolly, Poacher etc)
- Mayo News Podcast: For all things one-sided Mayo GAA. Particularly helpful during club season, FBD and league
- Balls.ie: Surprisingly good, though not as good imo since they lost Maurice Brosnan
- Off the ball, Second captains etc
- various AFL podcasts

Coldrick is beyond facrical at this point. Some of the decisions of lack of were a disgrace.

Have these states seen an increase in the number of illegal residentsas a result of the sanctuary status?

If they have, that dilutes the vote of every legal resident in the country-can you not understand why that would be a legitimate issue for some people on the right to be concerned about?

I think the red states would still have plenty of illegal people working there. If somebody crosses into Texas I doubt they're on the next bus to San Fran cos it is a sanctuary city.

If nationalists want to play for NI good luck to them but many who consider themselves Irish first and foremost should be free to choose the Republic.

From what I've read it sounds like nothing was said when the girl came back to Jackson's room until the 3rd fella came in and she got up and said "how many times does a girl have to say no?". The girl said she went numb and was apparently frozen with fear which is understandable if her version is true but is it possible that Jackson could have interpreted it as consensual if he began kissing her and she didn't try to stop him or seem to him to be objecting in any way?


The evidence of the girl who walked into the room should be vital if she's a reliable witness, in determining whether the girl seemed to be a willing participant or not?

Every question you ask is victim blaming to some but I think it's logical and reasonable to ask why she could say no when there were 3 men there but was too scared to say no when it was just Jackson. She said no the first time she was in the room but not the second(unless she did and it wasn't reported). Why did she feel too scared to do so - was he physically aggressive to her at that stage? These are questions I'd like to hear answered before Id make up my mind if I was a juror. Maybe they were answered but not reported.

BUT as I said in another post, Jackson and the girl had consentually kissed in the bedroom, Paddy went to take it further and was rebuked by the girl who then went downstairs. She put on her shoes, about to leave, but realising she's left her bag in the bedroom went up to get it with Jackson following her and forcing herself upon her.

Why wait 2 days before going to police and then forget someone (a woman) came into the room when it was all happening? She'd have been the first person you'd have in your prosecution team, her evidence and those others at the house should nail them

Stats prove that a large percentage of murders occur in very specific areas. Low or no murders occur in many other parts of the country

No...statistics tend be mainpulated by people who have an agenda.  I am pointing out that National crime and gun statistics dont paint a complete picture.

It started off with me responding to someone implying that the average American was armed to the teeth......In my state Massachusetts 85% of people dont even own a gun, so the average for the entire country is absolutely meaningless for the 6.8 million people who live here.

Inner city gang violence, drugs etc, career criminals.... compared to other wealthy countries take all that out and there's still a major problem so not sure why you are trying to deflect the conversation so much.

Its like saying Ireland has a problem with gang violence and giving the statistics for gangland killings.
When in truth, Dublin has a problem with gang violence , those statistics have little bearing on the lives of someone who lives in rural monaghan for example.

That said, that doesn't mean we should do anything about reducing gang violence in dublin.

Yawnfest in Clones, was always going to be so the second Down made the Ulster Final, in fairness to Down after they settled down they were tenacious and clawed their way back into the game well, they just ran out of ideas after the break.

As for Tyrone, that is a performance that will strike no fear into the big guns going forward, Dublin are an absolute scoring machine whilst Kerry destroyed a very good Cork side, these two are way ahead of the pack and on their second half performance today Tyrone are probably the third best team in the country.

Praying for Down in Croker now, they have a terrible record in the qualifiers and we are a different team from the one they beat in the Athletic grounds.

One last thing, Tyrone's second goal was absolutely brilliant, probably the best finish we will see all year.
