Always found Ab Fab very forced. All that "darling" this "darling" that. Much preferred Joanna Lumley as Purdey and couldn't get passed that.

Milltown Row2

Fawlty Towers.. Brilliant show
The Office... Office watched both UK and American, enoyed them, daughters into the American one but not watched the UK one
Allo Allo.. great show
Mrs Browns.. truly awful stuff
Only Fools and Horses.. great
Bread.. take it or leave it, was ok
The Fast Show.. loved it at the time, now its not funny
Last of the Summer Wine.. a decent show.. not brilliant
Dad's Army.. same as above
Friends.. really like Friends and it doesn't get dated
Monty Python.. bit ike the fast show, hasn't aged too well
Some Mothers Do Ave Em.. was ok
Absolutely Fab.. not a fan
Keeping Up Appearances.. good show
Blackadder.. great show
Porridge.. brilliant and the film was class too

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

I think we really are at a loss for great comedy shows now. That golden era has gone... and if it hasnt, what am I missing out on?  Is it because of everyone being offended all the time now or what?

Only Fools would be my favourite, with Blackadder in 2nd place.

Banks of the Bann

Since we've moved off topic onto general discussion of comedies. One of the best of all time and not mentioned yet is Red Dwarf.

I'm not sure why but in the 90s me and my mates loved Shooting Stars. Watching it back it's still a bit funny but nothing special.

I really like Bob Mortimer though he comes across as a sound character. You find a few odd clips of him on Would I Lie To You and they are hilarious.

Little Britain as well. It was massive back then but hasn't aged well at all!

A few ones don't like Derry Girls and while it was overacted it's still very funny and very relevant to anyone who grew up in the early 90s.

Love Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere, only one season, but very funny.

Have you watched  Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse, gone fishing?  It's well worth a watch

Yes, Minister a great one too.

The English, the effers, do comedy well. Irish efforts at comedy often descend into stage Irish paddywhackery. We are much better at tragic drama and throwing a few jokes into the tragedy to help it along.

Captain Obvious

Didn't find Smith and Jones face to face stuff funny. Sketches they did were decent.

Hale and Pace another duo with some decent stuff however and a lot of their stuff wouldn't be allowed in the cancel culture we have now.

Love the fishing show. Highlight of a Sunday.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.
