The ulster championship is not as great as some like to go on about its been dominated by tyrone and donegal mostly i think tyrone or donegal  have been in the last 10 finals and a lot iofthe time when one was not in it they knocked each other out.

The Munster Championship is full of Hurling Counties except for Kerry!

The Leinster Championship has become a procession of Dublin!

The Connacht Championship is a round robin competition between Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. It rightly gets no credit because only two AI titles have come west in 56 years!

Ulster is not a Hurling Province. It has nobody who has out an out dominated the province. There is always the chance of Down, Derry, Armagh ruffling the feathers of Donegal, Tyrone and Monaghan.

From journalist Cahair O'Kane

Games won in the Ulster championship in the last decade (2012-now)

Donegal 27
Monaghan 16
Tyrone 12
Cavan 9
Down 7
Armagh 4
Fermanagh 4
Derry 1
Antrim 1

Looking at those figures you think that Donegal completely dominated over the last 10years, but ultimately they have 4 Ulsters, Tyrone having won less than half the amount of games as Donegal have 3 titles, and Monaghan who have also won more games than Tyrone only have 2 titles to their name.

Its certainly grim reading for the bottom 4 teams, and especially the two propping up the table.
Just having a look at the teams that Derry have been beaten by in the last 10years:

2021 - Donegal
2020 - Armagh
2019 - Tyrone
2018 - Donegal (Ulster Champs)
2017 - Tyrone (Ulster Champs)
2016 - Tyrone (Ulster Champs)
2015 - Donegal
2014 - Donegal (Ulster Champs)
2013 - Down
2012 - Donegal (All-Ireland Champs)

I think that its fair to say Derry came up against some good teams there but it is also fair to say that Derry were pure pish for a lot of the seasons above and wouldve been bet by a lot of teams in Ulster had they met them.

In the space of 14 years between 1994 and 2007 every county in Connacht won the provincial championship.

So what? Leinster had Champions from Kildare, Westmeath, Meath, Laois, Offaly and Dublin during that period.
