Thought things were supposed to get better when the injury list cleared up  :-\

It's a shame. It's going to peter out for Klopp.

Konate was poor tonight. Quansah deserves to start next game

Salah has been terrible last few games.

Would you as a Liverpool fan have taken a trophy win,a top 4 finish and a  return to Champions League football and title challenge at the start of the season?

I suppose it would have been considered a decent season if Klopp hadn't announced he was leaving which only seems to have made everyone think only a quad or treble at the very least would be considered a success in his final season, certainly some other clubs would have been happy with what Liverpool will end the season with.

As a neutral I'll be sorry to see Klopp leave the league.

From where Liverpool were last May, of course I would have taken top 4, a trophy and a title challenge.

But you take it as it comes. A quad or treble was never realistically on, but Liverpool were in a really strong position a few weeks ago in the league, which is what fans REALLY care about. Now the last month of the season, once top 4 is sealed,  will simply be a case of fulfilling fixtures, and Klopp's farewell will be a lot hollower then it might have been had they at least taken it to the final weekend.

Definitely going out with a whimper. I think everyone hoped they'd keep the pressure on til the end but seem to have given up

I'm sure that he will slot in nicely.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

So he's smart at any rate.

Performances over the last month or so have resembled a lot of last season

Liverpool need a really strong character like Big Ange TBH.

It's a pressure position with roaring expectation and a few results going awry early doors could impact most managers, bit Ange seems to take most things in his stride, similar to Klopp.

With the departure of Klopp and what usually follows when such a big manager leaves, there won't be too many that will want to take the reigns too early.

Will any players see this as an opportunity to move on? The success of Jude at Real Madrid can certainly give players like Trent a taste of other challenges and improve him further

Klopp said around November time he felt the team were playing above what he had expected after introducing new players.
Maybe this is just the drop off after over exceeding early on?
Never felt they would win the league tbh but did expect them to win the Europa League.
Don't know anything about Slot or the Portuguese guy either, interesting summer ahead.

Captain Scarlet

Spending big on Van Djik and Allison was neccesary and they were class acts, but the lads up top cost a fair few quid and are hit and miss.

Nunez was massive money and can't be trusted. Gakpo, Diaz and Jota also were not cheap. The finishing is what's killing Liverpool in recent times.

At the back Konate is just not good enough but they didn't ever look at buying decent cover when Gomez and Matip are walking sick notes. At the time there was a the big crisis the lure of Klopp could have got a solid player in on frees or short term.

I know Klopp doesn't have City's money but the spending has not been great.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Is it time to get rid of VVD? Doesn't seem like he enjoys the games, is the captaincy too much for him?

Look-Up!

VVD plays in a vital position. Still has plenty to give and a natural leader. I think it would be too risky to get rid, unless his heart not in it and he wants away himself. Earns 150k less than Salah, who I think is a big problem going forward not only because of his poor form, but he's putting massive upward pressure on future wage negotiations, be that existing contract renewals or new signings.
