The same few oul RTE favourites telling the same oul tales.
A typical tired oul jaded RTE effort.
That Station needs to do a clear out and bring in some fresh faces.

Who's the 'we' in that sentence? I've never commemorated Kilmichael,
.......a bunch of sectarian ghouls.

[/quote]
"WE" are Irish Nationalists and you claimed to be one  :D ;D ::)
I presume you are referring to the Orange Order ...any crowd of bucks who go around wearing gaudy clothes and white gloves and hate Catholicism and Catholics would in my view qualify for the term sectarian.
As for Sinn Fein remembering an action of their IRA mates -- it might be classed as anti Brit but certainly not sectarian. Those soldiers were killed because they were soldiers not because of their religion. Some of them were probably Catholic for all we know.

A competitive Ros v Mayo match could never be described as going through the motions ...  :D  ;)

Unfortunately it's been a while since we gave them a competitive game but hopefully normal service will be resumed on 18th. :)

Well we commemorate Kilmichael which also resulted in a load of deaths of Brit Auxiliaries. ;)
Then Unionists commemorate the Battle of the Boyne which consists of mainly of abonimable gloating over a battle where thousands were killed.
By the way was anyone ever charged with the murder of the man who was killed in Co Louth that day by shots fired by the Brits across the lough?

Do ye boys think there is any point in this competition these days especially since the Colleges teams came in and have first choice on players?
There is no comparison between the County team selections in the FBD and those who play in the Championship making me question what this competition achieves.
Then there's the chance of 2 College teams in the Final with subsequent lack of any Revenue accruing to Comhairle Chonnacht.

Dublin.... in this case they were not treated very fairly by the GAC.

Not half as unfair as Ros ( and M**o)having to always play Kerry in Munster venues especially  bloody Ennis

It's a decision for the GAA via Congress if a Motion appears on the clár.
However I too doubt if the FAI or the Buggers would move their games out of LR as they would not make any extra money while their own place wouldnt be earning anything.

By the way Tommy Kenoy in last week's Ros Herald said that the 2 most memorable events of his life were
1- Ros Minors All Ireland win in Ennis and
2 - The Ireland/England ploughing Rugby game in Croke Park. ...
I wont list his comments on item 2 as Orangeman/Mid Louth and a few others would likely die of a fit .. ;D

Yeah? Well you know the old saying, "Water always finds its own level."
O'Mahony is stabled with his intellectual peers. ;D

Exactly as he is a highly intelli :Dgent man.
So ye're County champions, ye're county team manager/TD are both in Ros...  ;)

President McAleese comes across very well, more as a very positive educator/inspiration.

I still remember that day and how well she spoke about becoming President while recalling her roots in Belfast.

it was very interesting to hear the President talk about her home parish, the great people of the area and their many talents.  Apparently her home parish is now in Roscommon!

Her father Paddy Leneghan was from Croghan parish in our fair land.
She now has a house in the neighbouring parish of Ardcarne( near Cootehall) where I almost had the privilege of running her down one day on the narrow road from her house to the village as her,Martin and a fat red faced Detective minder walked along. :-[
Anyway we didnt burn her out unlike the nice Belfast folk so maybe that might tinge her views a little ;)

Roscommon 3-13 Sligo IT 0-5
Fergal O'Donnell gets off to a winning start as new Ros manager, while several of his 2006 minors were helping out the various colleges.

GMIT 1-9 Leitrim 0-11
Donie Shine kicks 1-2 in the last 10 mins to deny Mickey Moran a winning start. Leitrim finished with 13.

NUIG 2-10 Mayo 1-8.
Cathal McHugh and Conor Devaney scoring NUIG's goals.

Well done Ros. They were a credit to Fergie yesterday as they matched the total no of wins in 2008.
Refreshing football with a team showing purpose and shape and not treating the ball as if it was some sort of disease to be avoided or got rid of at all costs as it used to be under Plaidhcmaughan.
HOWEVER..... it's only January and Slito I T were dire so we wont be getting carried away.
Still 3-13 and the U21s hitting 3-12 on Saturday  :) ...at least Ros fans are smiling again.
Donie got 1-6 in total while Cathal and Conor hit 2-3 between them against our "lovely" Western neighbours.
David Keenan and Cathal Cregg played for DCU yesterday and James McKeague played for Athlone.
Meanwhile Enda Kenny,(who I hear is not on the Ros panel this year??) wore the Sligo IT jersey yesterday.

Cavan 4 men,"sent off" tonight in Eddie Reily,Anton Reily,David Givney and John McCutcheon,Most of these for sweet f**k all.

Teams will end up replacing 8/9 players per game.

We have to presume they committed one of the yellow card offences??? ???
If players stopped fouling we would have less frees and no sendings off for foul play.
