How (for example) would Westmeath a higher seed than Donegal make perfect sense?

He and Vidic were part of the Manchester United squads that finished back to back seasons on eighty nine points. Scholes second retirement was at the right time, left on a high winning the league and didn't have to play under David Moyes. Vidic was so frustrated with Moyes that he chose to tell everyone mid season that he would be leaving.
Vidic had been poor for a few seasons, you must not have been watching that well.
, you also said Scholes would still be good enough for the Pl, the 2012/13 season showed he was slowing up , so not sure how 2 seasons on he would good enough in the Premier League at 40. Or have the mobility for the premier league.
He made a good impact in the 6 months the season before when he came out of retirement in 2011/2012 but was in decline the following season. Unless you are stevie wonder, not point discussing it with you
Quote from: rodney trotter on November 11, 2014, 04:22:06 PMDid United seek him or did he choose to come out of retirement himself? The current quality of the premier league isn't what it was either.Quote from: Captain Obvious on November 11, 2014, 02:08:33 PMQuote from: rodney trotter on November 11, 2014, 01:32:34 PMQuote from: Captain Obvious on November 11, 2014, 01:03:37 PM
Back to back seasons with eighty nine points prior to Moyes appointment would say different. I doubt many Liverpool supporters were wishing Graeme Souness well with Galatasaray after the mess he their club in.
Would bringing Paul Scholes out of retirement say different? What world class talent was in United midfield for the past few seasons? Januzaj emerged last season still a lot to prove. Kawaga wasn't strong enough for the Pl doing well since he went back to Germany
Ferguson done wonders as i said with that squad to get 89 points
Paul Scholes was one of Manchester United's best players of the last twenty years if he was brought out of retirement again tomorrow he would still be better than half of the midfielders in the premier league.
Point is United had to seek him, it showed there wasn't much Quality there.
And he is 40 in a few days I doubt he would still be one of the top players in the Pl. Maybe in an exhibition game

Quote from: rodney trotter on November 11, 2014, 12:13:24 PMThe appointment of David Moyes shook the very foundations of the club it sent Manchester United back to mid eighties. Moyes was well paid off for his experience at United and Van Gaal is left to restructure the club as Ferguson had to almost thirty years ago.
Moyes back in management, be good to see him do well, and move on from the United experience. Van Gaal is not finding it easy and he was given millions so the stick of Moyes was ott
