Tadgh Meehan

Held numerous roles in Lancashire and British GAA. Died after short Illness in Wigan yesterday. Uncle of the famous Meehans from Caltra and Galway.

The Committee and members of St Brendan's are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Chairperson and Honorary member Tadhg Meehan, one of the most influential Gaels in Lancashire and Britain over the last 50 years.

Tadhg served as Treasurer of Provincial Council from 1984 to 1999, and as Secretary of Britain GAA from 2000 until 2012. He also held the role of Croke Park Central Council delegate for four years.

Tadhg served Lancashire GAA with distinction as President for six years (1984-87), Chairperson for six years (1977-82) and Treasurer for 13 (1989-2001). He also held the position of Register/PRO for two years (1974-75).

We send our deepest condolences to his wife Eileen, to his children Dominic and Kieran, grandchildren and the entire Meehan family in Lancashire and Caltra, Galway.

That's very sad, Tickle. Only met him on a few occasions, but was a gentleman. RIP Tadhg.
