Yea seemed to be comfortable enough.  Haven't seen the match report so I don't know who the starting team or finishers were but judging from the photos posted by McTaggart it almost looks like an All-North Antrim line out.

That's not good, what's going on up there.

Think there are a few Belfast players on the panel, the panel is 40 odd at present. I know U-20 is over a couple of age groups but as examples St Mary's not anywhere near being competitive in Mageean.

Rossa beaten by about 30 points in minor championship (after playing B championship the previous year). St John's B minor championship last year I think as well.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

A good 2 points today although due to ref who wouldn't be welcomed too much in Semple or Nowlan with that approach it's hard to know how they'll fair against Offaly et al.
However they hurled well in parts, with a nod to N O'Connor who surprised me with how well he contributed.
It's hard to tell over TV the structure Davy has set up but some of the best chances came from strong running, in particular N Elliott.

The most pleasing aspect of the weekend was yesterday's U20 result. A big change from losing last year and according to reports a big squad which will only help the broader development.

Comfortable win today against a Westmeath team who were in truth poor. We should have won by a bit more.

Most players put in a shift tbf. Bohill got on some amount of ball as did O'Connor. Not sure who I would put motm - maybe Nigel Elliot?

Hard to know what to make thus far with Davy but definitely our approach seemed to be more acurate short ball than longer balls into the ff line.

Yeah thought WM were very poor, probably a few positions in the team still up for grabs.

It can just look very laboured at times (the short passing, especially if it breaks down on heavy pitches) but it's early in the year I suppose.

Carlow beating Waterford has fairly shaken it up with us all expecting a Dublin/Waterford procession

Yeah Carlow beating Waterford a huge result. We need to follow up today's win with a victory down in offaly next week. We should have won by more today but good to get the 2 points.

podge

Hard to judge today as Westmeath were pretty poor and the ref was a disaster for the game.  Not sure who he was but some really bizarre stuff.

That said, we shouldn't scoff at a convincing win over Westmeath so credit where it's due.  Looked a lot fitter.

Next week will be a real test of where we are .

I think today's game will stand to the lads going into next weekend. Should be a really interesting game in Tullamore. Both teams will fancy their chances.

NAG1

Think the difference of us having the game last week and WM not showed on Sunday.

Some really positive elements but definite caveat with how poor WM were and how bad the ref was.

Could and should probably have 4 / 5 goals, but the Carlow result definitely opens it up.
