The Olympics, Champions League, Home & away etc are all unblocked in the North on the HD channels. Its currently channel 31 on my TV but I think it originally tuned in at 800+

Different story if you're on Sky, but if you have a TV aerial you should be able to get it same as me

To get HD channels in the North from RTE you need to be picking up the signal from a Southern transmitter so RTE didn't forget to block them, they just can't and shouldn't.

SD channels are coming from the transmitter off Divis in Belfast and are Geo blocked.

My problem with getting a signal from Clermont Carn in Louth is that huge lump of granite called The Mourne Mountains.

Why do RTE not transmit HD from Divis? Is it a cost thing?

Healy and O'Sullivan out :( . Healy such a talented runner but just struggles to perform at the major championships - frustrating.

Mark English through which is great to see as he has been a bit off form.

[Edit just realised he has PB'd this year]

Blowitupref

Rhasidat Adeleke into the final without going all out.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Dunno, she looked to be struggling a bit at the end No?

Thought she secured 2nd spot while pulling up on the final stretch.

Probably looking at bronze at best for the final as can imagine Naser, Paulino will be 1st and 2nd.

Capt Pat

Nkisha Pryce the girl with the fastest 400 time this year by a long way is out. The semi final is a funny race at times and can be completely different from the final.

Adeleke has run as fast as Naser did in winning that semi this year. So it is all to play for in the final.

weareros

Pryce has done 48.57 already this year, so Rhasidat will likely have to chop a good bit off her personal best to get near gold. She wasn't overly happy with her run in the interview with Gillick. Better to get strategy wrong in semi than final. Qualifying was all that mattered.

Tony Baloney

Hudson-Smith will be sick after that 400m. Some dart by Hall to get over the line first.

I don't think she has the power to deal with a few of those front runners though hope I am wrong. Chance of a bronze but a few better than her. She's still very young though so plenty of scope for development.

Milltown Row2

Some finish at the 400 men's! Hall came from Belgium to catch Hudson
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Adeleke did that time flat out in a two horse race for a gold medal, not puking up in an Olympic semifinal having been comfortable the entire way. Eid Naser has lots more left in her based on that run.

These were never blocked nor intended to be blocked nor will ever be blocked as the HD channels are broadcast from the 26 counties.
The issue is people who cannot pick up this signal and have the signal broadcast from NI transmitters.
If people do not want these things to be blocked then they need to talk to their MPs and tell them to stop the BBC getting exclusive rights to broadcast in NI. There is no point in blaming RTÉ, they are to blame for the competitions, but not for this

A gold medal lost rather than a silver medal won. Must be gutted.
