Plus the point deduction was crazy.
Absolutely. I was surprised when the result was called, but I didn't score it round by round, and it's so easy to get swayed by the commentators, especially when Serrano's punches were more eye-catching and at times they were just commentating on one fighter. The punches landed stats don't lie and they were heavily in favour of Serrano, but one dominant round (like the first) can skew that too.

The Netflix scorer had it 6-4 to Serrano, whereas all 3 judges had it 6-4 Taylor, so whatever it was, it was a tight fight which could go either way. BBC have reported that ' world champions Claressa Shields, Terence Crawford and Shakur Stevenson all thought Taylor was a narrow winner'.

So we certainly shouldn't be embarrassed by the victory or swayed by all the crying from the Serrano camp in the post fight interviews.

Absolute gold TV moment when Iron Mike was interviewed between rounds during Katie's fight. And not relating to anything he said!

Maddening when people say this tbh.

"If you ignore the agreed, accepted and long-standing scoring system of the sport, then X..."

Another boxing farce, how to get people buying pay per views  to watch these clown shows. Paul, wants to make a name for himself, fight a top 20 fighter in his weight class, see how he gets on.

gallsman

That's not what he wants to do though. What he wants do to is rinse gullible twats for as much cash as he can for as long as he can get away with it. 40m was the guaranteed number I heard for last night.

For a guy who until a few years ago was "Logan Paul's brother" (yes, I laughed too) he's doing a bang up job of it so far.

quit yo jibbajabba

He's playing a great game to be fair to him, most of us just wanna see him sparked out but for now he's too clever for that

"Mr Andy Kaufman's gone wrestling......."

Last night's fights were not PPV. Existing Netflix subscribers could watch without any extra payment. Of course, it will be interesting to see if they increase their subscription price again to recapture the costs, or if new subscriptions make it worthwhile.
Netflix were advertising that they have two NFL games live on Christmas Day, again no extra cost for existing subscribers

Jake Paul a total p***k who you'd love to see get the head hammered off, but the brother probably worse. Doubt they care though.

Closer to WWE than boxing by the look of it. Did Tyson actually throw a punch at all?

Only watch Taylor Serrano there, tight enough fight but think Serrano deserved it. The compubox stats would back her too.

You can't go compubox stats, otherwise there would be no call for judges,  just go to compubox to see who landed the most punches.
It was a really close fight, I don't believe in draws in boxing, there has to be a winner and for me Katie was the cleaner sharper fighter who just edged it. A great fight and fair play to two warriors who gave it their all.

From the Bunker

Re-watched the Serrano/Taylor fight. A real great fight.

Hometown fight, hometown commentary.
You watch it on mute - Taylor wins - Just.

As someone said earlier boxing is not judged by Compubox.

You can land a plethora of tippy tappy shots that count as shots landed.
It's about quality shots and Katie landed them multiple times.

fight ruined by the Taylor Headbutts whether intentional or not they did make a difference.

I didn't base my decision in compubox, but when you look at the punches landed per round Serrano was miles ahead and she wasn't the one throwing tippy tappy punches.
