So Knockbride were Junior standard all along  :D

Craigbane beat the Cavan crowd now back to how Derry are ruining the club championships...

And that ladies and gentlemen is why Knockbride were junior for 15 years.

It's alright winning league games but if you can't win big championship games it's a waste of time.

ElJeffe

So how can a team like Knockbride play like that today and play div 1 football in Cavan ...

That's embarrassing for Cavan football in general..

Talk all yous want about championship football but it seems the standard is atrocious

League has been messed up here, yes. As explained multiple times

But you again miss the point. They got relegated. We've been trying to tell you they are a Junior level side on any metrics. As we saw today

Embarrassing how? A junior team won a Junior title and got beat in Ulster. As will happen 8 other teams. It's not that deep

Craigbane were a top 5 intermediate league team this year, so not a million miles from Knockbride's lofty league position

Aye Derry seem to have went down the Cavan route. Did Craigbane not win a junior championship two years ago? A team that are 2x Ulster club intermediate champions and 7x Derry IFC winners. Are they really still a junior standard club?

In Derry not traditionally, but there's been an effort to be more competitive in junior / intermediate beyond the county championships of late

Well the good news is the county board have caved in to the big clubs and reverted back to the old championship format after only a year under the current format so Craigbane won't still be junior next year if that helps...

Craigbane and Slaughtmanus if memory serves me right were relegated from the Intermediate championship last season via play off

Derry used to operate a 16 div 1 and 2 with the rest in 3.They tried to revert to 12 and 12 then the rest.Which to me is similar to alot, ie; proper grading. Can't complain now that Derry putting in teams of equal strength , instead getting team 17th at Intermediate and 33rd at Junior.

Wait a second. Knockbride been taking a battering here as a junior side for 15 years, yet you sat on this info? Cavan took no such route as this. That's incredible as you are showing these are absolutely not a Junior level team, or at least Derry are gaming their Championship. You cannot compare this to Cavan and a Junior team for 15 years...

nrico2006

Were Glenullin not winners of the last two Derry IFCs in a row too? Yet they were still in in this year also.

All to do with the county board making a balls of restructuring championships. Feel like Craigbane are coming into some unfair criticism, yes they have a very impressive intermediate record but the club has hit hard times with a tiny population and immigration worse than it has most of the rest of the county, I believe they're even amalgamated with their neighbours in Tyrone at underage

I've mentioned Derry before for taking the piss the last couple of years. They're doing the same in the hurling.

Cavan deservedly get flack after all 3 of your county winners coming from Division 1 last year!
