She had the fastest 400 flat in the world last year. She's a next level athlete. Hasn't lost a hurdles race in 4 years or something.

Like I said, everyone seems to love Bol in particular for some reason, but there has nothing to suggest she could even come close to competing with SMcL.

square_ball

That was phenomenal running in the 400m hurdles. The athletics has been brilliant in this Olympics.

Yeah gallsman I hadn't followed close enough until I read something you said a while ago but different level of athlete really. Not many better ever really.Bol is still fantastic and just unfortunate to be in the same era.

Last few nights the racing has been fantastic.

gallsman

Yup, some all time classic races.

Good interview from Bol there, very honest. I said she needed to have the race of her life and got SMcL to melt down to have any chance of winning but it was the opposite that happened. Beaten into bronze by nearly 2 seconds!

weareros

Gillick has done well alright getting a word for RTE from the non-Irish athletes, even managed to get Hudson-Smith right after he let gold slip from his grasp. Now Femke.

I couldn't really make her out on the BBC interview. Did she say she was going lactic at the 7th hurdle?

She went full on Mickey Mouse
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

I heard the interview on RTE, sorry.

Yeah, Gillick has earned his pay for sure this week.

imtommygunn

Gillick is a fantastic interviewer- very empathetic rather than looking for a headline.

I think RTÉ made a decent effort in covering the Olympics.

I disagree, Greg Allen is awful, spends his time reading from his notes about every athlete. At least four or five times over the last few days I've screamed at the telly how many to qualify FFS. The BBC lad everytime says just before the gun, 2 or 3 or whatever to qualify. In the heats of the mens steaplechase he said these 8 are the lads in the shake up, there were 9. He also missed the lad missing the waterjunp and didn't know what happened. Agree on Gillick he's excellent.
2007  2008 & 2009 Fantasy Golf Winner
(A legitimately held title unlike Dinny's)
