Irelands olympics starts at 4.30 pm today with the 7s team up against South Africa.

France have already drawn with the USA. The French fans were not happy.

Good win. But need to improve placekicking. Didn't think it was even possible to miss a conversion by that much. It was so wide it went heading for the middle of the touch line. But general play was very composed.

I see the rugby team plays again the nite @8pm against Japan. Seems to be on RTÉ 2 again. Rake of soccer and stuff has started

Mageean's rivals coming into big form in the 1500. I think she's going to struggle to get near a medal never mind win one though I really hope I am wrong. Hull has hit form and others hitting times she wouldn't be fit for though it's championship racing so a bit different.

That was a good opening to the olympics for the 7s team. They had another try chalked off for a knock on by Conroy.

Now as long as we don't mess up against Japan we are in the quarter finals.

I see a lot of Adidas gear for the Ireland Olympic squad also. Like the gear the golfers are wearing below.
