Quote from: sam03/05 on February 17, 2024, 04:28:26 PMMinor semi finals today - mad how long those lads had to wait to play those games. Cookstown seem to be on the rise a bit, they were beat in grade 1 u16 final earlier this year, they were in the grade 2 minor final last year, now grade 1 final, all their teams seem to be playing in grade 1. Donaghmore though should be the best team in the county at that age group.
They have 3 teams entered at u14.

Lack of County and u20 players will make it different.

Quote from: bannside on February 12, 2024, 06:50:56 PMTyrone schools football at an all time high. Must be serious work going on in clubs, then schools pick up the mantle in year 8.

Holy Trinity & St Joseph's Donaghmore both stepping up in recent years too...

Only show in town amongst the bushes...fair play.
The Dean managed a Markey cup last year and were competing in grade 1 on down the years reaching the Dalton (?) final.
Holy Cross Strabane also reached a Markey cup final this year.
St Ciarans Ballygawley seems to have slipped off the radar.

Not be anytime soon I'm fairly sure it was April last year

Reserve leagues and Jim Devlin will be well underway at that stage so it would need to be earlier.

Will the Ulster leagues be finished up by then or do many clubs enter them now?

I see the 2023 Minor semi-finals have now been scheduled for 17th February. That should see the final played a week before the 2024 season throws in.

Quote from: Rossfan on January 30, 2024, 01:39:37 PMYou score a goal now = kick put from opposition 20m.
Score a goal if that was passed = throw in 50m nearer the scoring teams goal! Punishment for scoring a goal!

How about anyone on a yellow or who got a black in normal time can't play in the extra time?

Are you looking to add in stupid rules ?

I thought I read somewhere that there was a push to ensure reds picked up in normal time would carry through to extra time, no more "it's a new game so reds are cancelled but yellows and blacks carry through"

So Israeli allegations of involvement by 10-12 UNRWA operators out of 30,000 (a list previously provided to and cleared by Israel) is sufficient smoke to cut out aid.

However genocidal statements and attendance at Settler conferences by Government Ministers is not sufficient indication of Israeli direction of travel.

Quote from: shawshank on January 29, 2024, 09:49:21 AMSomebody tell Leo this isn't rugby. Hope Leo isn't a ref. How anyone could justify that as red is beyond me, outside of having done something in the pushing shoving afterwards.

Where did I say it was rugby? I said the red was harsh and the tackle was careless but the Ref makes the call in real time and if you are clumsy you run a risk.

No square ball.

We often hear this trotted out.
A tug on the jersey gives the ref a decision to make.
The wrong decision would be to issue a red card. Just as it is here.
IMO, The tackle was careless, he made contact with the players head, albeit with his chest, and there didn't appear to be any attempt to play the ball. In real time that give the Ref a decision to make.

In rugby it would not even be in doubt as there is an onus on the tackler that is not in our game.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on January 28, 2024, 11:55:58 PMIt's difficult to tell, player never would have got the ball In The first place if he didn't come across the square then out he didn't receive it on the square.
There is no prohibition on being in the square, only on receiving the ball in the square if certain conditions are met.

Quote from: Ed Ricketts on January 27, 2024, 11:44:48 AMSeems Donaldson has calculated he finally has enough support to push them back into Stormont. Big meeting on Monday to lay it all out. Maybe even back at work by the end of the week.

Response of the holdouts will be interesting. A bit of grumbling, but ultimately sticking with the DUP gravy train? Or does it become more messy? Unionism is so directionless at the minute - how stable can government be until they figure themselves out?

They didn't vote during the last meeting as it was leaked. So Bryson leaked about this one hoping for the same result.

Seen a great response to him from Newton Emerson. If you continually tell people they are not Unionist, eventually you will be right.

All those lists at each polling station are collated and the marked list (who has and has not voted) is available to anyone for a small fee.
