I talked to a lot of good Cargin men after the game who were gracious enough to say we gave a very good team their fill of it. That's all.

Good game! ref kept you in it if you care to admit it but at the end of the day the mcnamee resides in the cargin clubhouse to 2025 ,your chairman could have been gracious enough to shake cargin men's hands but refused but hey ho that the way he wanted to roll with it ,your very welcome into cargin for tomorrow the best day of the year "champions Monday" #Eoc #champions 🇳🇬

Firstly, congratulations to Cargin, great club, you know how to grind em out. Good luck in Ulster, all Antrim will be behind you.

Casements didn't fear Cargin before the game and round the club we feel like it's one we lost, rather than Cargin won.

The video is going around that shows we had a good goal disallowed, and we thought when Dermot was black carded, Mick got away with an exact same foul a few minutes later. Those things hit hard when refereeing gets it wrong or is perceived to not be consistent.

And we thought  Enda Lynn should have got a free in to level it in extra time.

Those who wish to comment please do so, just take the time to review the evidence beforehand.

Portglenone will suck it up, and will come back for more. Now that we know we can go toe to toe with Cargin for an hour, our challenge is to go find that extra couple of per cent.

Good luck Cargin, but don't go looking down your noses at us no more! We arnt far away...and best of all... youse know it!

Agree with that all, as a neutral, apart from the Lynn "free" at the end.

He was looking for it.

But ports were the better team (just lacking a quality forward) and I said from the moment the ball hit the net, that was a legitimate goal..... But typically Cargin were able to use their experience and influence to make the call for the officials.

Especially on the black card.... Karol has a lot to answer for on that one.

A great day of drinking and chatting before tomorrow's turning point in the Kilcoo onslaught of Down football. Talking to a few stalwarts of Down football and they're all agreed that Burren win this by 5+ points. Kilcoo will get a red card early and hopefully Moore from CPN will do us a favour the way Darren did for them a couple of years ago. Not that we'll need a favours. Would just turn a 1/2pt win in to a more comfortable watch! Odhran player of the match and Ronan McGrath x Ryan Treanor to be close behind him. The torch is about to be passed. Burren for Ulster in my opinion. Magpies aren't what they were, heard it here first folks.

We had a great evening of celebrating which will continue long into tomorrow. Burren could have been doing with some of the stalwarts they wouldn't have done any worse. That is the worst team ever to contest a senior final! We stevie will be under some pressure now.

Former Cavan midfielder Dermot McCabe looks set to be the next Westmeath football manager, replacing Dessie Dolan.
McCabe's name will go before a Westmeath county board meeting on Tuesday for approval.

The 1997 All-Star was coach to Mickey Graham's Cavan when they won the 2020 Ulster title.

Since then, he has had an involvement with his club Gowna's back-to-back Cavan titles in 2022 and 2023.

McCabe will replace Dessie Dolan who stepped down after two years in charge.

While the pulling of county players from district board championships will cause some disquiet I think in a lot of cases it's badly needed. The Cliffords for one thing have been flogged these past 2 years. Not helped by Jack calling on them for Rd2 of the league in Clones last year either when they were meant to have half the league off.

I think/hope that it will be players who are still in County Senior Championship that get pulled or "decide" not to play. But it will cause trouble in certain cases as the district championships have big tradition and interest in them.

Regarding the district championships, would certain areas take them more seriously than others? I've always got the impression that the South Kerry is taken quite serious? Would this be the same in all districts?
Also, would a club like St Mary's Cahersiveen view winning the South Kerry as a bigger deal than an All county junior/intermediate championship?

Fair dues Bannside your men done  themselves proud today and took it to us but you are absolutely taking the piss claiming hard done by decision wise. 7-5 down in normal time, two scandalous decisions awarding frees. The commentators on the stream were in disbelief. Cargin on one of their worst days still came through against Portglenone who are away home thinking they played well
