How much is the stream of St Brigid's v Dunloy? Would have more interest in that than the other two as an outsider looking in

I don't think the GAA thought this new rule through. I envisage lots of incidents of players whacking the ball into players' chests as they hand the ball back.
Should have just said they have to drop the ball straight away as soon as a free is blown.

Has this been proposed for congress? It's followed well in the Aussie Rules that one. Probably because the penalty is moving up the foul by 50 metres but they do throw the ball back directly into the opponent's chest whenever they have fouled them and quick free kicks are taken.

Dungannon were comfortable as half time approached and a 1-5 to 0-2 scoreline would have been more reflective but that 1-1 at the end of the half gave Donaghmore renewed hope and it was nip tuck the whole way through the second half. Paul Donaghy was well marked from play by the Donaghmore No.3 but he showed great composure for the penalty as a miss would have left Donaghmore only needing to go for a point on that last attack. Overall it was a very good game and you'd feel that Donaghmore are about 2 years away from being proper contenders.

Donaghmore 2 years away from being contenders? Never have & never will. Rarely get beyond 1st round of championship. Too nice. Youth success guarantees nothing. Decent league side - that's all. The people of Donaghmore are more interested in planting flowers and winning bloom competitions. Says it all really.

Think Clonoe deserved that last night but Coalisland won't be too phased about play off with the men coming back in. They looked like they were going out with a whimper with 15 left done well to come back into it.

Big monkey off the back for Clonoe all the same. I'd say Errigal will have one eye on Carmen / KC

You're right on the double headers, will not be happening the way they've been operating for gates / streams.

Trillick in Dungannon on a Thursday is a non-runner I can't see them making Clonoe go Monday again either. You'll probably not have to wait long to find out to be fair.

Missed the game. What was it like? Any stand out performances?

No real stand outs, Conan Grigan man of the match, Omagh looked the hungrier team and looked to have it won but for the goal at the end of injury time. Plenty of needle but all round a good championship game, Omagh will be gutted to lose it, Aidan Clarke done a great job on Bradley, Danny Gorman the same on Ronan O'Neill

Killyclogher were impressive enough in the opening 15 minutes but fell apart for the rest of the game and only come alive again in injury time to win it. Omagh will be gutted at that one as they were the better team by a mile in that 2nd half. What did Gallagher do at the end?

Killyclogher scored the goal, Oisin McCann went right up into Hugh's face and he dropped him like a sack of spuds. Was knocked out for quite a while.

This craic of roaring in a man's face after a score / final whistle. You don't deserve assaulted for it but your entirely playing with fire doing that to the wrong man. Omagh and Dromore can feel hard done by.

Loughmacrory most impressive so far, really looking forward to that quarter final. Two good teams with top players at the scoring end of the field.

Would tentatively go for Clonoe tonight with the Fianna men that are missing but wouldn't be surprised at the reverse of this. Bigger game coming later on and Coalisland seem to have the voodoo sign over them in recent years.

Intermediate is set up lovely after that first round, quarter finals should all be watchable. You'd fancy the 4 teams with senior experience in the last 2 years to make the semi final but wouldn't be a given.

I'd agree with this, especially with Errigal waiting doesn't feel like it has any significance at all to be honest. Maybe for people in the area but west Tyrone folk probably not even pay for it on the stream

Kildress dodged a bullet with Conor Gormley and Leonard anyway. Leaves Drumquin and they turn around and win the league the following year. Goes to Beragh and takes them from second to a final day shootout for a place in the relegation play off.

That Beragh second place was a serious over achievement in fairness, I still don't know how they done it. For all our resident Kildress poster's constant jibes they have barely finished above them

Seems for both Clonoe and Coalisland they're after going through a right few years of consistently Grade 2 underage, this was never the case back in the day but its catching up now

That's the relegation play off sorted then. Coalisland v Clonoe with the loser down and winner playing the Divison 2 play off winner.

Don't think you need to worry about that, bad bad spell for two traditional powers. 1st round championship game and a relegation playoff and in reality I don't know how much bragging rights the winners can really take from either.

Eglish have been quite decent as of late haven't shipped a proper beating in a while, if Killyclogher conveniently rested a few men on Friday night it would leave Sunday afternoon somewhat interesting. 3 wins in 5 days when you had none before that is asking a lot though.

Top 4 going to the wire as well, great season for Galbally. Errigal sitting top of the tree in absolute third gear is ominous

They done a right stint in it didn't they if I remember right? I could be wrong but I've a feeling I can remember championship defeats to Brackaville and Derrytresk when this was going on, crazy stuff when you look at playing numbers.

Would be unprecedented to go intermediate but Kerry intermediate is at knockout this weekend.
Fossa lost the final last year by a point in their first year up from junior, I would say Fossa v 2022 Munster Champions Kerin's O'Rahillys is arguably one of the games of the weekend in terms of importance anyway. It's a quarter final after all.

Kerry's "club" championship is at the semi final stage in Senior but hard to know if that's worth watching when the county one featuring East Kerry has not started yet.

Other than that it's group stages all around - think Waterford hurling also at knockout but it's a formality so why give it air time.

Who had the 100/1 accumulator for division 2 tonight, some upsets

It's clear the gap between division 1 & 2 is massive. Division 2 standards this year probably as poor as I can remember. Whatever 2 go up will com straight back down.

It will be 2 teams only promoted.

Moy, Greencastle, Moortown and Derrylaughan have proven they can go to Division 1 and win games and survive. Likewise Eglish showed this last year, Pomeroy this year. Clonoe in intermediate last year showed how "wide" this gap is when they didn't win an Intermediate double. Likewise I don't think Ardboe, Coalisland, Clonoe or Edendork win an Intermediate Double next year. And there is nothing straight forward about Clonoe Coalisland Ardboe going to play Moortown Greencastle Moy or Derrylaughan in a relegation play off.

The worst Coalisland team in generations beat Moortown and Moy in play offs last year in second gear. Comfortable in both games. I don't think the gaps massive but I think its a fair comment to say we normally have someone in mind for a rattle at Ulster intermediate and I can't see it this year no?

Even with Clonoe slipping up v the Moy in IFC last year, their supporters would tell you they're poor right now and they went unbeaten in the intermediate league.

Errigal Ciaran gave Galbally some schooling. Think a reality check for them.

Still the team to beat I'd say, Trillick haven't got into a good rhythm at all this year and Dungannon struggling with Clonoe / Eglish would make you unsure about trusting them for 4 games.

Whoever is the semi opponent for Errigal will give them a good test as it'll be Carmen, KC or Dromore. Do no harm after tanking ardboe last year, wouldn't of been deadly preparation
