Uh... Brian Mullins Dublin? Rory Gallagher, Fermanagh? And I believe Fr Sean  Hegarty from Armagh have  all managed  Derry in the past.

Brolly just can't hide his hatred for all  things Tyrone.
I think you'll find it's Harte he can't stand, has been consistent on that for a long time. A lot of Tyrone people not impressed in what Hartes done either...

Ok fair enough. Though I agree with him bout Harte... Tally as bad going to Kerry. Is why Cody didn't shake hands with Shefflin, trying to plot the downfall of his own county...

Quote from: tiempo on April 12, 2024, 02:40:20 PMLatest podcast was a bit ott in terms of GAA exceptionalism, GAA has its share of fraud, spivs, spoofers, and wrong'uns - Joe's experience seems akin to Tom Cruise involvement in Scientology

And why so much hate for Micky Harte - referred to as 'that man' in the latest episode, a bit much

I used to find Brolly really interesting, he actually seems to be becoming slightly unhinged.

I can easily see him totally ostracised in the media world and an Ewan MacKenna type character in a few years
His podcasts are very good and popular albeit he is prone to tall tales. A far cry from Ewan McKenna.

Don't know an awful lot about McKenna or his background, but Brolly and him share a similar narcissistic trait, it's all about them and being the centre of attention even if that is offending people.

The Harte thing is Joe being Joe, saying something controversial so that he is "trending" on social media, there must be an adrenaline hit in it for people wired like Joe.

That's exactly  right.  As Oscar Wilde Said , "there's only one thing worse than being talked about , and that's not being talked about".

Brolly  has to be in the  limelight, regardless  of who suffers or who he insults.  He just needs to be centre of attention .  The Mickey Harte thing is just the latest  thing

It's fairly tiresome at this point. I see he will now not let his entrenched hatred towards Mickey Harte stop him attending games. He loves this Derry team now that they're going somewhere, the same group who told him to run on when he tried to enter the Clones changing rooms and bask in their glory after we beat Donegal 2 years ago.

Even though he said he wouldn't be attending any more Derry senior games when Harte was appointed, maybe he meant Derry senior hurlers
Where'd he say that?

Quote from: From the Bunker on April 12, 2024, 04:30:21 PMMcKenna has been outspoken on Dublin and their special treatment.
Brolly brown noses Dublin at any given opportunity.

McKenna was ostracised because he spoke up against Cash Cow Dublin GAA.
Telling the truth and as it is became an offence when it came to losing Adverting and selling papers.
Brolly on the other hand talks with blinkers about the great Dublin Like one would talk about the romance of Man City winning everything - with no mention of the €€€€.

Politically they are poles apart also.

McKenna just a nasty piece of work. Dublin don't buy in players, Man City does. Whys their hurlers not doing as well with same money pumped in?
I don't agree with everything Brolly says but he's not wrong about Harte.

Quote from: Truthsayer on April 12, 2024, 10:33:27 AMBoth very poor in the final, games like that I suppose. Is a boring format same 8 players week in week out and you can see a lot of it is exhibition stuff dancing together on stage and no real disappointment when beaten. Some great check outs and the 9 darter but but not big tournament rivalry and tension.. Passes a few hours but not the real thing..

Its a great nights entertainment to be fair, the places are packed to the rafters, maybe the drink helps ;D
Aye on second thoughts can't be big tournament every week. Was disappointed to hear Belfast crowd boo Nathan Aspinal.. he's sound. Tho I don't like them booing any player.

Quote from: NotedObserver on April 10, 2024, 10:40:34 PMDaly a class act and the half back line would be fairly strong as well with all impressing tonight. Ohare electric pace which is hard to handle at any level

Brolly & O'Hare always willing runners on the wing. Rafferty quality through the centre. Gormley will be a major loss if injury keeps himon the sidelines going into the knockout rounds. MCCullagh McCann & Grimes off the bench are quality assets to have
Under 20 season over for him by all accounts. McHugh probably come back into the middle and O'Neill or McCann probably fill the role that Gormley was playing.
Probably leave the team looking like:
McAneney
Clarke Hughes Devlin
O'Hare Daly Rafferty
McHugh O'Neill/Fox
Devlin/Brolly McElholm Potter
Owens Cassidy O'Neill/McCann
And that still leaves McCullagh and Grimes and the men who don't get the nod.
What's the issue with Gormley and McHugh?

McHugh dislocated shoulder but good to go. By all accounts he was to get a run out last night. Gormley has a hand injury not football related I believe.

Was do or die at that stage. The player to blame was the one who lost possession. Beggan would have needed a motorbike to get back..

Quote from: marty34 on April 07, 2024, 02:38:00 PMCeltic need to call out Beaton and his officiatating.  Very poor but not unexpected. A no penalty given to get them in the game. I knew he'd give them a gift of a penalty. Celtic need to call that out.

In saying that, Celtic being 2-0 up and 3-2 up in injury time and giving up the draw is poor.

Disappointing but league still in Celtic's hands. No more slip ups. Know what is at stake now in terms of winning all the games.
Is the league not in Rangers hands if they win every game or do they meet each other again?

They meet again at Celtic Park.
Good stuff! Didn't realise that. Draw not so bad after all
