I went to see September 5 at the weekend. I almost fell asleep during the first half hour. I enjoyed it in the end though, having not known a whole lot about the Munich games.

On a side note, I've long had the Omnipass monthly subscription and I just got an email to say that the terms are changing. I'll only be able to book the least popular (worst) seats and if I want a decent seat i'll have to pay extra. Poor move from Omniplex IMO.  I'd say a lot will cancel. 90% of the time I go to the cinema it's empty too.

Its a totally different perspective on the Munich games attack and how the German police/army at the time were poorly equipped to deal with what happened but also how much the TV people there at time were hungry (in a bad light for me)  for getting in on the action

I enjoy that take on different global events, we always see the main talking points but this gave alternative approach

It did, and I think that alternative approach threw me a little initially. It struck me how primitive broadcasting seemed, in comparison to now.

Quote from: Truthsayer on January 29, 2025, 07:43:37 PMA Complete Unknown... portrayal of Bob Dylan's rise to fame. Excellent. Great music and Timothée Chalamet brilliant in the lead role. Edward Norton as Pete Seeger is quite something too... seems to be very accurate. Woodie Gutherie sad role in it but he sure inspired Dylan, Springsteen.. Anyway highly recommend. In cinemas...

Can't disagree with all of that. Well worth a watch.

It leaned heavily into the performance of his hits. I'd maybe have liked a little more time on the man, his personal life etc. Small gripe. Still a great show
+1 , really enjoyed it as well

Has anyone watched Anora or The Brutalist? Both won a few Oscars last night

Started The Brutalist last weekend on an "alternative viewing platform". It had no subtitles so it was swiftly abandoned. Will watch Anora this week at some stage.

Anora is a great watch. Very funny, well written and acted. That young actress who won is quite easy on the eye as a stripper too. :)

Milltown Row2

Yeah there is an art to stripping, the DUP banned it here so its hard to get to any shows :o

I have just abandoned it halfway thru (where Vanya's da arrives at the house). Does anyone know if it is supposed to have subtitles or are they just missing off the Firestick?

It's meant to have subtitles.

Aye, I had to hoke about a few apps to get the right link.

Just finished watching it with the cub (wife asleep on the sofa). Class.

Better man
Actually quite good. There is an initial WTF over the chimp CGI but to be honest after a few mins you accept it and then don't notice it. Must be pretty accurate story line because Robbie still comes across as an absolute tool in the movie😂
