Hey I remember the fume I used to experience in my early teen years when utd were good...it's 'obvious' he is feeling similar and is clearly triggered by this...not sure what age he is though

In the age of social media, podcasts and phone-ins it's funny to see some of the meltdown and over-reactions to Liverpool going out of the champions league.  I don't imagine most Liverpool supporters are that bothered really. The joy of winning the league will put that to bed. Man U and Man City who dominated the Pl for years routinely year in year out got knocked out of Europe and there wasn't much said about it.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Slot and Liverpool were going to struggle in his first season they said.
Now it's a failure because they won't win the quadruple 🤷🏻

Thought it was funny in the post match interview with Van Dijk When he was asked about going for the quadruple a few weeks ago to now being out of two of the competitions.

Being knocked out obviously disappointing but can accept they were second best over the tie. Strangely being knocked out of Europe last year probably annoyed me more as Atalanta a lesser team and would have been great to see Klopp win trophy in Dublin.

The annoying thing is that Arsenal and City have fallen off a cliff meaning they would have been well placed give CL a real go and rest players here and there in league with others so far back a luxury likely won't have next year.

Next year could be a whole different ball game for Liverpool.

Whatever is happening with the contracts for Van Dyke, TAA and Salah isn't good or the Liverpool media team would be announcing it what ever means possible if they've signed.

At least one of the three will be gone, TAA would have the least impact short term, but the other two are older and past their prime a bit.

Salah's ability to grab the important goal when needed can't be underestimated or replaced easily for that matter.

You'd of thought one would have been announced by now. Liverpool's board have got most decisions right so far to be fair to them so I'm sure they have something sorted either way.

If all three leave, and with Nunez and Chiesa (for what it's worth!) likely out the door too, that is quite a bit of money Liverpool will have to spend on transfers and wages with only whatever they get for Nunez coming the other way.

One thing PSG ruthlessly showed was the benefit of pace and movement. Liverpool had it in bags five years ago with Salah and Mane, but they were shown up a bit on that front across that tie. Definitely something they need to bring in, regardless of whether they opt for a specialist striker or maybe a couple of versatile forwards. Jota will likely be kept, but based on this season, if they're relying on him to be their primary centre forward, it's unlikely Liverpool will be challenging for the PL, never mind the CL.

Conor Bradley is an excellent player, but so far he appears to be very injury prone. Can he be relied on as first choice? Or do they need another option. Joe Gomez will probably be kept, so he can cover too, but when you see fullbacks like PSG have... But then left back is a problem position too. Robertson had a good game against PSG the other night, but he can't produce it on a consistent basis.

Even if Salah and Van Dijk stay, we're still looking at, potentially, two full backs, one or two forwards and a defensive midfielder. Maybe they'll pull some more rabbits out of hats like they did with Salah, Mane, McAllister, Szobozlai etc., but I'd be very skeptical that FSG will be forking out the massive bucks for someone like Isak with all of those additional needs.

So let's enjoy this title run-in! Could be a couple of seasons of rebuilding ahead.

I would imagine Trent will definitely go. And he's the one I'd be least worried about. Out of the other two, I think Salah will go. Hoping they hold onto VVD.
I do think there will be wholesale changes this year. And that's where we will properly see the measure of Slot.
That said the scouts in the club have done well recently. So I'd be more confident they'll get it right than I would have been 10 years ago.
Gutted to have gone out as think they could have had a real chance this year. But you know what, it happens most years so you just pick up and go again.

I see Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth being mentioned as a possible replacement for Andy Robertson.

Will definitely be big changes this summer both incoming and outgoing.

Slot would probably admit winning the title (hopefully) in his first season wouldn't have been something he would have been thinking of when he joined.

Looking forward to seeing him getting some of his own players in.

Yes agree.  The pace wasn't there to put PSG on the back foot more. Got overrun a bit in midfield too.  It's funny saying it given where Liverpool are in the league, but with the contract situations we could easily be looking at 4-5 players to bring in if Liverpool have ambitions of winning the CL.  Probably 3 minimum despite what happens with the contracts.  Kerkez from Bournemouth looks a great replacement at left back.  Not sure who the options up front would be.  Don't necessarily need a no 9, just forward players who are flexible where they can play.

Slot has them as really pretty ruthlessly efficient rather than being a great team. You need to be great to win in europe really. Part of that maybe is the age demographic as a few I think maybe not quite at that top level pace but I am not sure the midfield is strong enough either for a crack at the CL.

Like someone said could be a big rebuilding job next year but you have to credit Slot as he has done some job. The Carabao cup will be interesting now.

Arsenal are the Mayo of the Premier Division.  Damien Rice is akin to Aidan O'Shea.

Arsenal are not Mayo. Newcastle are. Arsenal are Some one who won something 20 years ago and got good again lately, but can't seal the deal.
Offaly are Sunderland.

Very true about Newcastle.  Have lost in last 10 visits to Wembley since 1955.They missing Peggy Gordon, Louis Hall and Botman duds. Plenty duds like Dan Burns and Jacob Murphy will ensure a  handy win for Pool to secure the double.
