Quote from: Wildweasel74 on May 12, 2025, 09:42:54 PMThere a girl around where I live, got prescription done ffom Doctor for some sort of weight lose drug, dropped 4 stone in less than 6-9 months. Now she was heavy.
A lot of people don't like them as it seems like a lazy person's way of avoiding diet and exercise. The obesity crisis isn't going away though, so if these drugs keep people out of hospital from obesity related conditions the jabs will have been a great investment.
Til they're in the hospital with the side effects lol.

There's no substitute for eating less and moving more.
Given the numbers of obese people it's clear it isn't working as it requires effort.
Obese and smokers should be bottom of the list for NHS care.

How about drinkers or fast drivers. You could maybe include people who like bacon or anyone who does anything remotely dangerous or that could affect them in later life.

Hardly impartial evidence for the Garda to sort out.

All that Graham Linehan & J K Rowling ever tried to do was protect the safe spaces that women and young girls need and deserve. While some transgender people may genuinely believe they are the opposite gender from which they were born, anyone who is anatomically male should not be allowed in to those spaces.

The Swindon players should be ashamed of the way the celebrated the goal. Can they be charged with bringing the game into disrepute?

It should be a shootout between DeChambeau and McIlroy. Scheffler and Rory are currently the two best golfers in the world, and with Scheffler 7 shots behind it seems too far back even for him. I can't see anybody else on the leader board challenging on the last day at Augusta. As long as he keeps matching DeChambeau, his 2 shot lead should be enough.
The blow up in 2011 is ancient history now. If that is still affecting him he needs to talk to a mental health professional.

Quote from: ONeill on April 10, 2025, 11:28:01 PMWhat team do you play at the weekend?

Tierney, White, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Sterling, Nwaneri, Senderos and Jeffers.

Richard Wright in goals. Pascal Cygan in centre of defence and Yaya Sonogo up front to complete your team

Quote from: RedHand88 on April 10, 2025, 08:50:20 AMSaw a video posted by someone on social media in memory of their child who died in tragic circumstances. The video had photos/videos from the wake/funeral. Photos of the dead child, them holding the dead child, an older sibling standing beside the open coffin etc.
Not going in to what case it was or where it happened.
Honestly don't know what to say.

I have also seen the video/photos. The older sibling, who is also very young is pictured holding the child. I hate to think of how this child will cope in later years As we all know once these things are posted on social media they are there forever.

I can't imagine the heartbreak and grief the parents are going through. They are probably in no condition mentally to realise the reaction and outcomes the videos will produce. You would like to think calmer heads would have advised them to think twice about posting the videos/photos.

Quote from: tiempo on April 08, 2025, 12:59:26 PMAt 23yo Martinelli has plenty of time to raise another level or 2, a drop off was to be expected to some extent, but at a base level its mired in Artera's stifling style of play that gives him no creative freedom, a workhorse winger in the mould of Grealish throughout the treble run

I enjoy the episodes when so called big teams (Arsenal, Utd, whoever) park the bus, after crying about it when lesser teams do it to them, expect nothing less tonight

Arsenal would snap your hand off for 2 0-0s and a penalty shoot-out right now

In fact I think Arteta would accept some sort of stoic moral victory and any non-hammering across the 2 legs

The time has long gone for moral victories. Arteta has had 5 years now and the trophy cabinet is bare. 1 FA Cup in 2020 and 2 community shields is just not good enough. This is Arsenal's last chance of silverware this season. If they don't win, Arteta's position will come under serious pressure from both the owner and the fans.

The WUMs have found the Arsenal thread after invading the Liverpool one.

I have been an Arsenal fan for 55 years. I can't remember ever posting anything on the Liverpool thread. So what makes me a WUM?

I don't mind one way or the other. I'm just trying to get Gerry Keegan to come to terms with why he likes the film so much and why he spent an afternoon with his pal in a dark Dublin cinema watching it over and over again.
