Why do journalists keep allowing them to hide behind the group name? You can't publish a quote as offensive as that & not name the individual who came out with it!

Quote from: Rois on June 21, 2024, 10:14:39 AMAnyone anxious and worrying about Aer Lingus action next week?
Waiting to hear today if our flight is being cancelled, and even if it isn't, I'll spend all next week worrying about it.
When is your Flight? We are down to fly with them on the 8th July. Wife is already panicking

It's between 26th June & 2nd July though, so you should be fine?
It's shit timing, I'd say there are plenty of people taking the kids out of the last week of school to get a reasonable priced holiday and now they're landed with this!

Stayed in Alfagar Alto da Colina a good few years ago. Good spot, access to the pools of 2 other hotels owned by the group, walking distance to 2 beaches (sand wasn't very fine on them) & walking distance to the new town strip with a buggy. We had a car & drove to the old town & Vilamoura

Quote from: thewobbler on April 18, 2024, 08:28:51 AMWe need to see more of this. Indeed it needs the full backing of VFI and another supplier ready to step in.

(Why do so many "news" websites have to destroy the user experience with an advert every scroll? Yes I clicked on that article because it interested me. No, I refuse to stay on that site and see if there's anything else interesting to read)

I thought you couldn't penalise customers for paying by card now? the article doesn't clearly explain their "cash discount scheme"
The Chinese we go to used to charge 50p to pay by card, now since that rule came in they only accept cash

Extend the "R" period to 3 years
Nothing over 1.2 in that period & no unrelated passengers 10pm – 7am

Government are never going to introduce rules like that, so its up to parents really.
Although in this most recent accident they may have already been driving 3+ years, so would make no difference

I rolled a car when 30, driving too hard in slippery conditions on a road I was familiar with, so can't lecture.

Is this actually needed?
Needed?
In one word: No
But the 5 schools yet to move to the site require different levels of investment in their current facilities if those schools are to remain on their existing sites.
I think it's a case where you have to think of the long term benefits, which will be financial among other things.

I think it'd do no harm for kids from those schools to mix more if possible. Ironically the Integrated school in town is not part of this project (they waited many years for their own new build)

Quote from: Delgany 2nds on March 21, 2024, 09:34:23 PMDefinitely a good proposal but the road network to the site is poor apart from the new link road out to the  Derry Road

3 of the existing school sites don't belong to the DENI but to Trustees.
The Sacred Heart college site is massive and could be worth a few pounds
If it were to open tomorrow, there would be traffic chaos no doubt, but solutions can be found to that.

One of the key aims of the project is to make community use of such a large patch of land vacated by the army – but if it goes ahead, its going to leave 5 (?) other prime sites vacant. It'll be interesting to see what happens to those & as you say the Education board doesn't own them all.

Will the CBS hold on to their playing fields at Coolnagard if they have new pitches at this development & the brothers park just over the footbridge from it?
I seen a councilor pushing Fermanagh & Omagh DC to provide GAA pitches in the council area recently, maybe they would be interested in purchasing..

Quote from: Walter Cronc on March 06, 2024, 07:18:37 AMAnother bad smash. O'Dowd needs to get the finger out and get the Omagh - Ballygawley stretch built asap
It has probably been answered on here before – but what was the reasoning that it couldn't go ahead in 3 separate sections?
IIRC some of the original objections came in the Omagh(Strabane?) to Derry section because of rivers linked to the foyle?

Omagh to Ballygawley is terrible

Quote from: trueblue1234 on November 10, 2022, 04:26:13 PMNot new car but looking advice. Have a q7 had a suspension issue as one wheel dropped. on. Brought it to A guy and he's fixed the problem but the suspension light still comes on after driving a while. He said it's a senor issue and can replace. But car driving fine. I have MOT in a couple wks. Will it fail for the yellow suspension light if it comes on during the MOT?
Yep.
Buy a code scanner from amazon & remove the error until your mechanic can change the sensor

I've tried searching this thread for posts on Euro Camp Holidays as I'm sure I've seen them mentioned before, but its returning nothing(?)

Currently exploring the idea of our first trip abroad with the kids – 6, 4 & 3
We liked the idea of the ferry to Brittany, but its around 17 hours & actually quite expensive so looking at flying
Has anyone any airport/camp combinations to recommend? Thinking short transfer
I've been checking flights to Nates/Paris/Amsterdam – might have to go the 12th week which isn't always ideal

I'm seeing flights from ~£800-1300 (before luggage) & the camp starts at less than £800 which isn't bad at all compared to a package holiday

Quote from: trueblue1234 on February 06, 2024, 02:41:26 PMNot a problem per se, but looking to get a tow bar on a q7. Anyone know a fitter in the Tyrone/ Omagh area that would be able to do with the electrics.
Also, was advised to put 13 pin on as easier to convert to a 7 with an adapter rather than the other way about. Is that definitely the case?
Have seen this guy's van about. He'll come & fit in the carpark at work
Not sure about the 7 v 13 pin, have seen the adapters - depends on whats on your bikerack/trailer?
West NI towbars

Just bought an inflatable 5 berth awning to go on the side of my van last week (Customer return on the olpro ebay shop less than half price if you're looking)

We camped for a night last May in Slieve Croob in Co.Down - it was organised by a groupVW Transporters NI Group on facebook. It turned out to be great weekend with lots for the kids to do and a band set up for a few hours

Its on again this year on 17th & 18th May - they've cocktail bars, street food & kids entertainment laid on.
*You don't have to be in a van, you can come along with just a tent

looking at other options, Hidden Valley resortt in Wicklow seems like a good spot with lots to do for kids
Can anyone recommend anything similar in Ireland? I think there's something similar in Galway with all the high ropes etc - no good for my kids yet

Some of the GAA clubs in Donegal have camping pitches now, e.g Downings, but you can't just decide to go on a Friday evening, you need to book ahead it seems

Quote from: trueblue1234 on January 23, 2024, 10:24:20 AMAny good websites for booking 2-3 night breaks in Europe. Open to inspiration so not tied to a location. Can't be bothered trying to arrange all separately. City or beach.

Skyscanner allows you to just pick departure airport & date & leave destination as anywhere
e.g. Belfast to Lisbon – 10th-13th May £131 each

Quote from: redzone on January 21, 2024, 07:34:54 PMWere or who do these dealers buy their cars of in the UK. There must be big profit in each car if I can get them sold. Presumably they are at auctions. You could save yourself bigoney if u cut the dealer out. Anybody know anything about doing it
British car auctions: https://www.bca.co.uk/

I bought a VW transporter from a dealer in Bedford 2 years ago & had it shipped back to Tyrone for £350.
I could have sold it here for ~£5k more than I paid for it

Did I see this year that some clubs have formally adopted the the "One Club" guidelines - have they done themselves out of payouts for each of their separate codes?

Nothing for handball & rounders  :P
