Terry Hall, lead singer of The Specials, aged 63.

Desperately sad news. 63 is no age. Poor fella.

A leading figure and influence in the post punk era, having success across a number of different acts.

His influence - and his music - will live on.

Rest In Peace.

RIP Terry.  I wasn't aware of the childhood trauma, Jesus that was rough.

I never knew that either.
RIP Terry.

Armamike

Very sad and hard to believe that Terry is gone.  For a lot of us of a certain vintage the Specials were the first music we really got into. It was like being part of a tribe.   In 1980 there seemed to be Fred Perry's, loafers etc everywhere you looked! Never got tired of listening to them and especially Terry's sardonic style.  One major regret was not getting to see them live the first time around.  Unreal live band.  The stage literally fell in when they played.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Hall was born and grew up in Coventry, but his childhood was scarred by his experience of horrific sexual abuse. When he was 12, he was abducted by one of his schoolteachers and delivered into the clutches of a paedophile ring in France.

There are only two of England's World Cup winning squad still alive, Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst.

weird stat , if the average age of squad was 26 in 66 the players age would be 82 now
You would think athletes would cruise past 82
Obviously some were older in 66 but weird none the less

Bobby currently suffering from dementia. Heading the harder leather ball played its part there?

The weight of the ball can't help. A lot of instances of it in that era of footballer.
