Trump is bombing Syria. Assad has won the Syrian civil war so this strike is not going to effect that outcome. Let’s hope this does not escalate into a full scale war with the Russians.

I think we have passed breaking point on this thread. Maybe we can resume discussions when normal service has been resumed.

Until then God speed to all, left right and center.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/apr/19/playboy-model-wins-right-to-tell-story-of-alleged-trump-affair

In an interview with CNN that aired last month, McDougal said she had been in love with Trump and the affair started not long after his wife, Melania, gave birth to their son, Barron.

The White House has said Trump denies having an affair with McDougal.

The right’s obsession with abortion and gay rights while giving Trump a pass to cheat at will on his pregnant wife reveals a bleak truth: They’re fierce defenders of their right to force their religion on their perceived enemies, and only their enemies.

Republicans are now set to subpoena Comey's memos. Let's be blunt: Rs are actively interfering in the Mueller probe to protect Trump. They will likely try to selectively leak from these memos or create pretext for Rosenstein's firing.

Trump's new claim is that the search of Michael Cohen's office shows Mueller is operating in bad faith. But Trump isn't angry about law enforcement abuses. He's angry that *legitimate* law enforcement processes are being applied *to him.*

One thing I learned editing this piece: Kentucky is spending $374m on the bureaucracy it needs to implement work requirements for Medicaid... and to free up that money it is *cutting Medicaid coverage.* "Kafka would be proud."

At some point Rosenstein needs to tell them to stop interfering in ongoing investigations. Let them hold him in contempt. The goalposts for Congrsssional involvement in criminal probes are shifting in a dangerous way.

Mr. Cohen, an attorney, received a monthly retainer, not from the campaign and having nothing to do with the campaign, from which he entered into, through reimbursement, a private contract between two parties, known as a non-disclosure agreement, or NDA. These agreements are.....

...despite already having signed a detailed letter admitting that there was no affair. Prior to its violation by Ms. Clifford and her attorney, this was a private agreement. Money from the campaign, or campaign contributions, played no roll in this transaction.
