I'm trying to get in the mind of a paedophile,in the modern day.Is the perversion so great that they actually believe a child will turn up? In the altogether more innocent days of my childhood it was drummed into us day and daily not to talk to,accept sweets from or get into cars with grown ups who may approach us that are unknown to us.In this day and age the with well known existence of predator hunter groups,it still doesn't prevent 50 something RTÉ producers from walking straight into traps, not that I have any sympathy for him for doing so,mind you.

Ah Ffs I didn't mean them in any malicious way.I meant them the way Denis Law intended when he spoke at George Best's funeral, during the service in the presence of the family, when he said and I quote "I am surprised Bestie turned up today!" Like me , he wasn't mocking a death either.

The mock outrage of the usual subjects here is hypocritical.Plenty of celebrity deaths on this Board have been greeted with absolute and genuine  glee,Margaret Thatcher for example.

I wouldn't put 10p on Spurs or any other Champions League contestant in a domestic league fixture preceding a Champions League tie.

Would Martin O'Neill in his prime, say between 1997-2005,have even considered for one minute taking the job he's doing now? I don't think so.I think like Dalglish, they're both in their late 60s his race has run.He really ought to retire, before further damage is done to his reputation. He doesn't need the hassle from gobshites like Dunphy nor the money.

MW A football team like the current IFA one, using exclusively Unionist symbols and whose fans add the No Surrender lyric to the National Anthem they steal from the English team, would be obsolete in any independent North.Indeed that is the whole point of making the North independent, i.e. Removing the competing allegiances to two different sovereign territories, neither of whom wants nor understands us,and which causes such division and dysfunction, and will always make one community a winner and the other a loser,in their own psyches.

By the way I experienced the unrelenting sectarianism of Windsor Park (after a gap of 20 years) at the recent Linfield V Celtic tie.It was so bad a guy I knew asked the stewards to escort him and his grown up sons out of the stadium early in the second half, and took shameful abuse on the way out when the penny finally dropped with the hordes of the reason for his escort to the exit

Just listened to Boris thanking the Free State on radio for training British Forces at the Curragh? Who knew that?
