While we would like to see Irish players with the tops teams I'm afraid that day is gone. Go back to the time Gerry Daly played League Of Ireland on a Sunday and on the following Wednesday plated U.E
F.A. Cup for Manchester United
That will never happen again. Look at all the Irish lads playing in the lower divisions because the Premiership is full of players from the continent.
Then of course the old story about Liam Brady leaving Arsenal to go to Italy. Don Howe said "you won't like playing in a foreign country"  Brady replied " I'm playing in a foreign country here"
Lee Harvey Oswald , your country needs you

Remember Back in the mid 80s Arnold muhren and Jesper Olsen playing for utd was about as exotic  as it got , they were 2 nice players too

Muhren😡.Was at Old Trafford in 1982 when he scored United's only goal in their win over Spurs. It was Paul Mc Grath's Utd debut.
