I thought the police officer was punched a couple of times according to the evidence.  One thing I have learned from my visits to the states is that you don't mess about with the cops.

#ThingsMoreHurtThanDarrenWilson

If Michael Brown had been behaving himself he'd still be alive. His death is being used by others to further their agenda and stoke tension. If a black police officer had shot him do you think there would be the same outcry and nationwide protests?

It wasn't though a black police officer . . . your first point has a little but of validity but the second point is just whataboutery!

In fairness your first point is ridiculous as well. 'Not behaving yourself' is not punishable by death!

Not behaving yourself isn't punishable by death. It's regrettable that it happened in the first place. The officer involved may have been too inexperienced to handle the situation on his own and made a huge mistake in judgement. 76 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty in 2013 according to the FBI.

As for the 'whataboutery' - there are multiple murders and deaths in the states on a daily basis yet this is the one that makes the headlines. Only difference here is that the ethnicity of the people involved to suggest that this was a hate crime.
Ditto the Trayvon Martin case, in that instance George Zimmerman wasn't a police officer but there was Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson stoking up tension. There's a market for hatred and serious money to be made.

Disgraceful that you use Aidan McAnespie as an example. There is no comparison. He was walking to the GAA pitch and shot in the back after going through the checkpoint. I don't get your second point at all.

The point is that your smearing of Michael Brown could just as easily be applied to countless victims of state violence in the North.

Smearing? So you're saying he had done nothing wrong that day?

Do you read what you say? This is exactly the kind of tripe Jeffrey Donaldson or Gregory Campbell comes out with when some atrocity commited by the RUC or the British Army is brought up.

Whether or not Michael Brown actually stole from the convenience store is irrelevant, unless you think deadly force is appropriate for handling a teenage shoplifter.

Your faux outrage at deiseach's use of Aidan McAnespie's death to undermine your ridiculous statements is pathetic.

Just as well for Dorian Johnson, who was with Michael Brown, that they weren't engaging in the illegal act of joyriding. Then Darren Wilson would have been justified in killing them both, like Lee Clegg did to Martin Peake and Karen Reilly.

How is it irrelevant. It shows he had little regard for the law. I will re-iterate that he didn't deserve to be killed.

My faux outrage?? You should pull up Deiseach for making the comparison between the two to try justify his point. That was pretty low.

Only seen as low by hypocritical eejits who miss the point entirely.

I suspect the reason Deiseach used McAnespie as a reference was because he knew it was exactly the sort of thing you'd get het up about, what with all the armchair republican bluster you spout. And you proved him right.

If Brown was a member of his local club or some young Irish lad on a J1 would you have made your same initial point?

See this is the exact point:

White catholic in the north involved with the GAA - outrage

Black teenager in Missouri who may have committed petty theft - so f**k

You made some outrageous statements, deiseach drew parallels with a subject you feel closer to, your reaction and sentiments were wildly different. Ergo, you are a hypocrite.

Those are the facts. None of them are incorrect.
