What you see on the screen in terms of people playing snooker hasn't changed a bit, whether it's Higgins or White or Jak Jones. It's just a lad at a table potting balls. Some do it faster than others. Some are incredibly slow. Same as it ever was.

I loved watching the world championship back in the day , particularly Jimmy White. I was glued to the TV when he was on.
I don't think there's a player who would make me sit down and watch. Ronnie is a great player but he just doesn't do it for me. I've not watched a second so far, and with that last 4 , it doesn't look like I'll watch much of what's left.

Years of ingrained tactical baggage seem to still inhibit this team, until a game is slipping away. Then, when there is literally no reason left standing not to throw caution to the wind and just have a right cut off it, instinct and skills are given their head and apparently we can give a game to a good many teams. It's maddening stuff at times and we keep repeating the dose.

Not part of the panel this year. Either wasn't asked or decided not to. His last few seasons his form had dropped off significantly, to be fair, but he had big mileage clocked up.

Jamie Doran is the obvious one. Like the look of Carr too - would Gilroy be worth working with - he is a man mountain. Murdock from Rostrevor too is a very sound player. Take some of them in and give them a go.. no point hanging on to the same faces that have been there 20 months now and still very limited game time. Barry injury is a tough one on the lad but opens a place for at least one.

Sure carr can't even get a game for Clonduff, gilroy never got a start all year for u20s so I would safely say there's a fair chance laverty won't be looking their numbers any time soon
