Only a formality for Chelsea tomorrow night. Have they any chance against City in final. IMHO Manchester City should win handy enough. This City is greatest English team of all time and after than Liverpool team of last couple years. Pep Guardiola greatest manager of all time.
I'm trying to work out which previous names you had on here....
Jesus. To some football only started in the 90s, this guy thinks it started last year ffs 😂😂

They beat them in the FA Cup about 2 weeks ago, so if they get to the final why not

Any team has a chance in a one off game/final.
chelsea have come on under Tuchel but they still haven't put a poor enough Real Madrid away yet.

In 13 years senior management Pep:
Took a Barca team with Xavi, Messi, Iniesta etc to 2 x CL wins
Took a dominant Bayern team to ...0 CL wins
Took a dominant City team to.....1 final (0 wins..yet)
In 5 years senior management (4 if you count a year out of the game) Zidane:
Took an average Real to 3 x CL wins
and I wouldn't claim ZZ is anywhere near the greatest manager of all time.
and for all those claiming it's a certainty Chelsea get to the final....it's 1-1...not 4-0 or 5-0
Good chance of getting there...yeh, sure
Formality...no

I wouldn't say it's an average RM team but I take your point.
Guardiola did a great job with Barca who are one of the big two in Spain and had a golden generation but he's spent an absolute fortune at both City and Bayern without really pulling up any trees.
Hope Madrid win it.

Modric, Ronaldo (the Christiano version), Benzema, Ramos, Varane in any team doesn't make them average.

Average by the standards of Real Madrid I would say, and certainly no better squad than most good teams have/had over the last few years in the CL
ZZ has them playing more than the sum of thier parts.

Madrid are missing Varane tonight though.
Varane has been pretty average all season (and was atrocious in last years CL).
Seems to be lost without Ramos to lead.
Nacho and Militao have been very good, the only worry is if ZZ tries to shoehorn Marcelo into the side again.
Up front there is Benzema and......not much else.
- Hazard.....less said the better about his time at Real
- Vini Jr, 1 good game every 10
- Rodrygo..anonymous, if he gets on at all
- Isco...bit part these days
- Asencio..talented but inconsistent
- Diaz...not at level required
- Vasquez...being played at RB
-Duro....not at leavel required (currently anyway)
Think Zidane will go with Marcelo, Mendy has been out for a few weeks with an injury - Ramos too. Would be a bit of a gamble throwing in both in their backline after a layoff for each? I assume Ramos will be starting no matter what considering Varane is out.
interesting if it ends up city/chelsea as european clubs will say that unless some measure of ffp is brought in then this will become the norm.

That's a weird post... it is the norm!
The only 2 that are not "super clubs" who have contested the Champions league in the last 17 years are Dortmund and Bayern who basically are Super Clubs!
Nobody is getting the CL Final anymore unless they have stacks of money and you can argue about whether that's from the club "generating their own money" or a rich sugar daddy in City's or Chelsea's case but the result is the same.

They definitely weren't an average team and had the best champions league player of all time in Ronaldo. Still some achievement winning 3 in a row.
Real worse than PSG. I thought Hazard was playing tonight? Premier League showing it's the strongest league at the moment.
Stuck 20 pound on Chelsea and Manchester City to both qualify for final before second round knock out. A handy 350 earned.
Rumour John Terry will tog for Chelsea in the final..🤣🤣

Benzema tried but other than that looked a tired, slow team bereft of any ideas.
Major rebuild needs to happen there.
Chelsea have a real chance against City in the final, no doubt.
Wonder will there be a bit of shadow boxing this weekend between the two?
That's an interesting fixture.
You'd imagine Zidane would bite the dust for Real.
Pulisic made a big difference when he came on but tbf to Werner he wasn't bad when he was on.
Definitely an interesting final.

Highlights as well how poor Liverpool were in the previous round and indeed since Christmas.
Defense out of it's depth in the first leg. Forwards couldn't hit a barn door over both.
Yeah liverpool just aren't at it this year at all. While madrid were poor chelsea are strong all over whereas liverpool are very suspect at the back and it impacts the whole show.
City v Chelsea is the petrochemical super league final in all but name, pure pish, glad Madrid didn't make the final to add a bit of gravitas to the occasion. Surely the final moves to Wembley?

What is the reason for moving it?
Two English clubs have played in a final before and it wasnt moved.
Istanbul it is - with minimal fans from each club at it ::)
Covid reasons, Turkey is in lockdown and who knows what may happen.
Couldn't tell you if Turkey is in the red zone for UK travel and that, but assume if it's going into lockdown it's there or about to be added.
No chance they'll move it of course but they are chancing the arm anyway.
The plan is to allow 9,500 attend this final in Istanbul. Will any Chelsea, Manchester City supporters based in the UK be allowed to travel?
On another note I just noticed Windsor Park, Belfast will host the Super Cup in August.

Champions league final to be played in Portos ground.
The Super Cup final in August is set to be moved from Belfast to Istanbul. Move is part of compensation for Turkey missing out on Champions league final two years in a row.
Surely worthy of a riot.
Don't worry - pottsy will stir one up soon enough anyway.
The Super Cup could be United v City. Daft that they'd take them two all the way to Turkey

Will only be Pep Guardiolas 2nd cup final defeat if that happens. Tuchel lost the final with PSG last year I'd wonder the thoughts of PSG supporters if he goes one better with Chelsea.
If they're not even winning the french league this year they must be none too happy. Poch could be in trouble.
Have had a feeling for a while Chelsea would win this. Not expecting a classic.
The fact that these 2 clubs are in the European CL final epitomises everything that is wrong with professional football. One is owned by a Russian Oligarch whose rise to prominence was assisted through bribery and political favours and with accusations of money laundering and alleged links to crime. Not to mention his links to Putin and Israel. That club was transformed by the arrival of Abramovich.
Then you have another club that is owned by the ruling class of a country with a history in human rights abuses and who have used a football club as a vehicle for sportswashing their reputation. The basis upon which both these clubs were built is oil which has helped them accumulate obscene levels of wealth.
With no supporters attending matches, the instant emotion often being drained out of the game through VAR, the attempt at a breakaway superleague and the recent rise to prominence of clubs like PSG & Man City, professional football has never seemed less attractive.

Is it not similar to the millions pumped into Dublin GAA? Or maybe it's just the rest of the teams are just lazy hoors, sitting on their holes, and it's time they got the finger out to achieve success?

Dublin are more comparable to a Man Utd which is a fully commercial money making machine albeit the funds are self generated largely through sponsorship, merchsndise and TV revenue.
If an Oligarch with dubious credentials comes in and starts washing money through Dublin GAA then the comparison might be legitimate.
Nasty challenge on KDB.

Pep's not the best at one off games. Seemed frozen on the line. Bad tackle on d'bruene. Like Ramos on salah. affected the game.
Rudigers tackle on de bruyne bings back memories of Schumacher on Battiston in the 82 world cup.
