No
Yes, path cleared for his return.
Derry will appoint him, ride out the media frenzy as first game isn't for another 5 months

I'm guessing the same as this will happen.

You honestly think Derry (Errigal) will go for Gallagher lad. Would it not turn into a circus??

There's a WhatsApp saying 3 Derry players approached Gallagher, Chrissy told Horse and that's why Harte walked. Could be complete bullshit.

I just hope Derry doesn't become a laughing stock as we've so much potential. If we were crap I could nearly accept it.

I would doubt harte walked, he had to have been pushed. He is stubborn to a point of stupidity.

If that is true then i am sure the panel wouldn't be too impressed with Chrissy telling the best coach in the country

Any true red hander (as your username states) would be supporting Ulster neighbours rather than finding it funny when southerners like Kerry and Galway beat them. You could argue than many Tyrone fans aren't very loyal Ulstermen at all.

How about Muldoon as manager? Can't do any worse than Harte. People say that you need an experienced manager? Sure Meenagh wasn't that experienced and did well in the 6 games last year.

Gallagher blooded half our current team

It was a panic move by Derry last September. They were all in with Bringing RG back until that was option was blocked by Ulster Council. In fairness it's a very very shallow talent pool at that level and that Derry panel wouldn't have tolerated anything less than a big name to build on where RG had taken them too. The appointment was probably more about getting Devlin in than Harte. The gamble has seriously backfired on Derry co board but at least they have moved quickly ( or the players have) to limited the damage. With two or three retirements imminent RG will have no option other than to widen the panel. Though personally, I'd like to see our minors play out their u20 careers rather than plunging them straight into senior.

Pros and cons with all managers... Sure this forum was filled with Gallagher flogging the players to death, he didn't trust certain players, only the core 18/19. Harte etc.. They'll all have certain traits or ways of doing things that people will disagree with (even when they're winning trophies)

Like most, I'd love to see O'Rourke, but I can't see it. Gilligan definitely worth a go. Gallagher a firm no. You'd like to think the wheels are in motion already.

Between Gallagher leaving and Harte being appointed, the CB contacted 5 or 6 big named managers and they all said no for various reasons.

I actually particularly enjoyed seeing Derry thumped by Donegal and Armagh with the concession of seven goals, does that me more "loyal"?

For what it's worth I well remember shouting for Derry in 93. I might do so again but make no apologies in the circumstances for enjoying Derry's farcical Championship after bringing in Mickey and all the talk of Sam. A little bit of light relief amidst Tyrone's listless performances.

Right...

What's the thoughts on the next manager??

In no particular order...

1.  Rory Gallagher (again)
2.  Malachy O'Rourke
3.  Damian McErlain (again)
4.  Conleith Gilligan

Who else's name will be thrown into the hat??

Dire Ear

RG is the players choice.........QED

You can rule Damian out straight away, will not be happening. If anything, he will move to the u20s

So 3, I'm struggling to add to the list.

Wouldn't like to see RG back - players choice or not. Alternative of Malachy O'Rourke would surely be a popular players' choice anyway? (obviously with the Glen lads at the very least)

Possibly Ciaran mcfaul and Emmett Bradley. Though if it's Gallagher he may convince Ciaran to stay on. Emmett won't.

No way McErlain will be tried again at senior. Massive difference in managing and motivating teenagers as opposed to seniors.
Gilligan is a bluffer and a chancer on the circuit, not a credible option.

McFaul not a bit young to retire?
