GAA Discussion / Re: Down v Derry 1994

I'm back on board after a long stint away (work purposes)
I remember this game very well, I was standing on the terracing behind the goals, to the Brandywell side of the pitch!  I was absolutely gutted after this game!
IMHO the primary factor that cost us the game, was Coleman Snr's inability to spot that his son was getting roasted by M Linden!! Yet in the Marshes in 93, Scullion (who was playing his first game after an injury) was replaced in the first half because he was getting a clippin from M Linden.

GAA Discussion / Re: Brilliant Brolly in Gaelic Life

QuoteBrolly has a point although the fact that he, or somebody in the Gaelic Life,  cannot spell Sean Cavanagh's name properley (spelt with a K throughourt the article - also had Colm Cooper as Colin Cooper) smacks of poor journalism.

Throughout his "journalism career" Brolly has spelt Cavanagh's name with a K! It's more to do with winding people up than poor journalism

Will Hunting is correct!! McCarron scored that goal against Cavan in '93!

The following is an extract from:  http://www.scotstowngaa.com/profray_mc_carron.htm

He was rewarded with that 1986 All-Star and won the 1993 Goal of the Season award for a stunning Ulster championship goal against Cavan in Castleblayney. No Monaghan supporter will ever forget it!

To the best of my knowledge the Screen game did not go ahead yesterday, due to Mullabawn's withdrawal from the competition!

GAA Discussion / Re: Best County GAA Strip

I disagree Exile, I think that each county geansaĆ should have their own unique style, not just the same kit in the different county colours.  I'm glad O'Neill's don't have the monopoly anymore on all things GAA.

I think the club you speak of is Derrylaughan not Dunshaughlan

7) Donegal's Paddy Campbell received a one month ban for tangling with which Derry player in the sides' 2006 Ulster SFC semi-final clash?

Enda Muldoon

32) Which Derry club claimed the county minor football title in 2006? It was their first such win since 1990
