Go on then name these clubs that avoid the top 4 Tyrone gaa. Nonsense statement

Going on last year.  Omagh were keen to avoid extra league fixtures and quickly dropped away in the league.  Results in the last 4/5 games would show that.  From speaking to people involved with Clonoe (who seriously reduced training well after championship exit).  Perhaps this was to cut club expenses but there wasn't an interest in winning a league.  Speaking to some Errigal people although they finished inside the top 4 they weren't overly delighted

Happy Redzone?

Omagh didn't bother with the league cause they had won championship and  had eye on ulster

Clonoe after being beat in championship on 10 aug,then beat the island and hammered the moy next. They only stopped playin for top 4 when it was beyond there reach.  Moortown shocked them and Donghamore to, {when a team is in a relegation battle that is when there are hardest to beat.}

Errigal beat end of May in championship then make top 4 without trying. Them errigal lads r pulling ure leg.

CASE DISMISSED

LOL Moortown and Donaghmore shocked Clonoe... They wouldnt shock them in a championship game in the same fashion.  Clonoe would never gift Coalisland any points.  Maybe thats part of the answer to keep the big derby games to the end of the year.    Everyone was hammering the Moy at that stage of the season.  Omagh did ditch their league campaign to focus on Ulster but still went out of their way to avoid top 4 position.

It happens.  Not all clubs respect the league for the full duration and to say differently you have your head in the clouds.  Donaghmore come good towards the end of most seasons and its nothing to do with the water their drinking.

The proposal is for the top 8 in one pot, with the other 8 in pot two.

I dont think this is the way forward to boost the league.  Some clubs look to avoid the top 4, they can afford to throw a few games at the end of the year if their league position is already comfortable. The county board also love the chance for a big gate so a first round like Errigal v Clonoe is a great result for them.

Its hard to know.  Personally I dont see why clubs disregard the league towards the end of the year.  Why take to the field if your not on that field to win!!

Div 1 is as strong as it has been for years.  Its hard to pick that 1 team that will really struggle, looking forward to it.

Any update on club manager situations?  Surely all clubs have started pre season preparations now.

This has been established there is a holiday period over the July holidays.  It covers 2 weekends 11th-19th July this has been confirmed.  There will be no club activity during this time.

There is the possibility that the club u21 games could be played. (Yet to be confirmed)

Mayo being a 'nearly team' is nothing to shout about.  If Tyrone have been poor from 2008 how many times have Mayo been able to get the better of them?  Tyrone were in All Ireland semi finals from 2008.  When Tyrone reach a final they make a point of not losing them either.  Takes a bit of fight, that's something Mayo clearly lack whether it be February or September.  When Mayo are challenged they are often found lacking.

Sorry I overlooked D. Quinn.  Clonoe have 4 county men, I stand corrected.

My point is, there is no right and wrong formula.  Your county team will have an impact on club championship.  Look at Donegal and how they run their club championship which was a complete shambles.

If a Tyrone winner doesn't get preparation time for Ulster Club its not right, if they get 5 weeks its too long.  Killyclogher had an early exit last year and if you asked anyone from that club they would say they were very happy with the way 2014 went.

Love the KYMI Clonoe attitude, one minute its a conspiracy that no Clonoe men are picked by MH to represent Tyrone and the minute a few lads make the break thru there is moaning about starred fixtures and championship dates.  It is what it is, it will never suit every club, Moy have 5 starred fixtures knowing they will likely get 0 points.  Omagh hit hard as well.  In the past Carrickmore, Dromore and Errigal all hit hard.  Biggest winner this year is likely to be Carrickmore.

Swings in circles.  Now Clonoe have 3 men

More money will be generated by championship gates regardless when it is played.  Season Tickets have been increased from £50 to £60 and gate fees to 1/4 and 1/2 finals have increased by £1.

County Board will ensure they don't take a hit no matter when the championship is played.

How much have Jordanstown spent chasing glory in assembling the squad they have without success.  Joe Brolly was very critical of Jordanstown last year and mocked them as Jordanstown Flower arranging students and the semi professionals.

Surely somebody will have the explain the failure

The problem is that it leaves 50% of clubs out of championship football.  Rips the heart out of a club no matter how big/small.  When your club is in the championship there is always that glimmer of hope that we can win this.

Boys look to America, lose interest, the league suffers.  I wouldnt be in favour of a very early championship
