Opportunistic, probably. Embarrassing, no. Why would an effort at fundraising be embarrassing. Armagh county board through mismanagement, totally failed to capitalise on the success of 10/15 years ago but they are slowly starting to get their act together off the field.

If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

hopefully we will get a fair amount given we play the dubs in the semi final.
we need to start matching their expenditure

We need it for a long term project to divert the river Blackwater to the West of the Moy.

We arent begging for money through Crowdfunding

The expectations obviously werent too high at the beginning of the season if you need a few quid to get you to Dublin for a quarter final

"Incredibly embarrassing"??

It'll be pretty cringe if it doesn't get a whole lot closer to £50k than a paltry £485!

You'd have thought that a county awash with smuggling and all forms of illegality could raise £50k in  heartbeat!?

That's a bit harsh, especially for a Belfast man  :P

Syferus

This definitely goes in the embarrassing category. They seem to have little understanding of how a proper crowdfunding campaign is even laid out.

56 days to go too, until the last Sunday in September. Final is the week before though. Must be looking money for the celebrations.

You'd wonder how legit this is. Could be someone acting the lag and even if they get a couple of grand then stick it in the trouser pocket. Unless someone from the Armagh CB recognises this, or some well known supporters with strong links to the CB I wouldn't recommend donating.

That said, if it is legit then there's nothing wrong with it at all, any more than collecting at a church gate or a bag pack is embarrassing for your local club.
