General discussion / Dragons Den Business Ideas
February 19, 2013, 03:39:35 PM
Have to do a presentation for uni of a new business idea / product / service, whatever it is, in sort of a Dragons Den type thing as part of a business enterprise module.

Only problem is everything I think of I google and it's already been done or bombed.

Anyone got any ideas, serious or not that they think could work?

Doesn't have to be golden but just give me something to show.

So far I have mused:

- A standardised qualifications website where everyone is listed with all their qualifications etc, sort of like a credit report website but that employers etc could access. For a fee.

- An app to find your car in a car park. Which I found out has been done.

- Airport creches for over here. Then when I googled it found out Dublin airport are getting one shortly.

I'm stuck.

GAA Discussion / Gaelic Life Fantasy Football
January 18, 2013, 12:32:47 PM
Anyone up for getting a board mini-league going again, wasn't there prizes usually? They had Petey Harte in the forward line and defence yesterday! It's changed now though.

What does this say about the Armagh set up??

http://www.gaeliclife.com/2012/11/15/armagh-may-lose-clarke/

ARMAGH look set to be without the services of Jamie Clarke for 2013 as he intends to go travelling. However, he will not depart until Crossmaglen's season is completed.

Orchard manager Paul Grimley is facing the prospect of National League and Ulster Championship campaigns without his key forward, who was an All-Star nominee this year.

Gaelic Life understands that Clarke is giving serious consideration to embarking on an extended holiday, but not before March 17, a date the south Armagh champions will be hoping will mark a treble All-Ireland success.

That leaves slightly less than four months for Armagh boss Grimley to convince Clarke to change his mind and play his part in the Orchard county's summer championship plans.

Down / Down County Football Discussion Thread
April 10, 2012, 10:23:41 AM
90% of the discussion in the Down CLUB Hurling and Football Thread is about the county? Endless mind numbing drivel taking up the space of club results/fixtures/discussions.

Can you quilts not read? Its a CLUB thread. Perhaps you can all discuss the merits of James McCartans management skills or what hairgel Danny Hughes uses in here instead.

Discuss the merits or otherwise of the strike if you wish but does anyone know if there will be a picket line at the HMRC Belfast office? I may have to call in later on but don't want to be crossing any picket.

General discussion / Christmas Drink Offers
December 07, 2011, 11:17:21 AM
So who's doing the best deals now in the run up to Christmas for drink so I can get my slug on for the cheapest price? Specifically up north I'm talking about.

I saw yesterday Tesco were doing 24 bottles of bud for £15 or 48 for £25, any advance on that? I'm a slugging machine me.

Any of you subscribers to the IN could you post up the interview McConville did this week, think it was Tuesday or Wednesday?

Cheers in advance.

General discussion / List of UK schools?
October 18, 2011, 11:16:44 AM
Hi, was wondering could anyone help me. Friend is doing something for work and he was looking to get a list of all UK schools, their principal's names and their addresses.

Anyone know if there is a handy list of all this info anywhere or something to help him?

Cheers in advance.

With hopefully a decent run in the Rugby World Cup coming up over the next few weeks I was wondering if anyone knew of any bars that are planning to open early for the games?

I've heard in Dublin they've been given a special dispensation to open early for the games and can serve drink, I see too that there was a huge crowd in the O2 on Saturday for the Australia game. Will anywhere in the North be able to open in the next few weeks, specifically in Belfast? I imagine member only Rugby clubs can open but what about for the general public? If we manage to get to a semi-final against England or France it would seem a shame to miss out on what would be a fantastic occasion and great craic.

The Belfast City council website says they're planning to show the final on the big screen in the grounds of the City Hall but no word of any of the earlier games. I'm not sure standing in the rain under the shadow of Belfast City Hall sounds very appealing anyway.

GAA Discussion / Top scorer in the championship.
August 02, 2011, 05:41:30 PM
Anyone know where I can get an updated list of the top scorers in the SFC this year? Hogan Stand used to do one but they seem to have stopped it. Tried the RTE website can't see anything.

Just wondering because Paddy power have priced up the market and I like a bet on these novelty markets to keep me interested.

The odds in case anyone is wondering:

Ben Brosnan 8/13
Bernard Brogan 3/1
Peter Harte 6/1
Sean Cavanagh 7/1
Colm Cooper 12/1
Bryan Sheehan 25/1

EDIT: Never mind found a list there on the GAA site updated to last week and I can work out the latest from it...

Ben Brosnan 0-32
John Doyle 2-21
Ciaran Lyng 1-21
C Ward 4-12
D Goulding 2-16
M Clarke 2-16
S McCormack 0-21
D O'Connor 3-12
S McDonnell 0-21
J Clarke 3-10

This was before the weekend. Any Tyronies know what Harte or Cavanagh are sitting on??

General discussion / Run ins with the law
March 07, 2011, 11:43:08 PM
Well, anyone any funny stories about run ins with the cops or getting arrested? Not talking about anything too serious here, just light hearted.

When I was at uni, I had no money for a taxi home from the Odyssey to the Holylands but got it anyway, told the fella to stop at Botanic for me to go the bank machine. I was airlocked and only ran about ten yards before slowing down to a stroll. He caught me and brought me to the police station at the bottom of Botanic near the Halifax.

They put me in a wee holding cell for about half an hour to sober me up then brought me round to my house where I had to get a lend of £4 off a housemate. That was the end of my brushes with the law/

General discussion / Bars in Liverpool showing GAA?
February 21, 2011, 05:28:02 PM
Heading over to Liverpool for a mates birthday at the weekend.

Only dawned on me I would be missing the Down v Armagh match on Saturday night.

I think it is on Setanta though. Would O'Neills be showing this do you think? Any other (possibly better than O'Neills) alternatives?
