Serious WTF moment.... from the BBC

An Australian man and his daughter have asked for understanding after revealing on national TV they have an incestuous relationship, and have a daughter.

John Deaves, 61, appeared on the TV show 60 Minutes with daughter Jenny, 39, and nine-month-old Celeste - to whom he is both father and grandfather.

Last month a judge banned them from having sex with each other and revealed they had a child in 2001 who died.

But they insisted on the programme that they were "normal intellectual adults".

Mr Deaves said they both "had careers, had a normal life like everybody else".

He added: "But [we have] fallen in love with each other when we are biologically related, when we've discovered each other later in life."

Mr Deaves had left the family home when his daughter Jenny was a baby, and did not see her again for 30 years.

When the couple met, in 2000, they began a sexual relationship.

Ms Deaves told 60 Minutes she began to see John as a man first and a father second.

"I was looking at him, sort of going, oh, he's not too bad. Like you might look at a man across the bar at a nightclub," she said.

"John and I are in this relationship as consenting adults. We are just asking for a little bit of respect and understanding."

The couple each pleaded guilty to two charges of incest last month and were banned from having sex with each other.

According to the judge's ruling in the case, the couple had a child in 2001 who died from congenital heart disease shortly after birth.

Respect they want is it? they should be in therapy and never see each other again. Two perverts of the lowest order.

Bertie should be convicted for crimes against the state. He is a gangster, a liar and a sc**bag. The politicians on the island of Ireland are every bit as bad as the ones in the states and if you are the leader of a country and you rip off the people of that country as far as I am concerned you should be hung for treason.

Wise up!

I am no fan of Berties but that is a disgrace, moderators can we have this person banned for this insulting and sick post?

My post would have made more sense if Mutley hadn't deleted his.
Yes, I do spout a lot of shite on here. I would (and have in the past) put my name to any of it.

I was aksed to delete my post by the mod.

f**k me you're right .. with a mixture of sarcasm, pathos and shite - and 14 posts - you have crucified me! Fuckthis! I'm f**king well phoning on sick tomorow.. I have been scundered by a NF apologist and a p***k!!!

I didnt try and crucify anyone but you are either drunk or have rage control issues. I am away to bed, I dont have to take this kind of abuse from anyone. Calm down big man, you will take a heart attack if you keep this up.

One last thing, I am far from a NF apologist, you are just mad at me because you have very limited writing skills. Decrepitated :D Classic.

Agree - Blanket Statement !!! But how many Bluemen will be thoroughly ashamed by the incident? How many NI fans cringe (rather piss themselves with pride in the South Stand) when "No Surrender" is shouted during GSTQ? (THE QUEEN SAYS IT ALL) -  Guilty by association methinks! If I was a decent Blueman (PERSON) I would have jumped ship years ago rather than endure the shite that is sprouted at Windsor - Methinks that they must be comfortable (enjoy?) such hatred and aggro... certainly would not bring my kids to sit through that hatred!! Then again would anyone like to argue with me by saying that the Blues fans have not been responsible for 95% of the badness in local football over the years? ps - there is a man in his 80s living in Lurgan who has a leg 1 and a half inches shorter than his other due to the fact that Bluemen queued up to jump on it on 27.12.1948.. Jimmy Jones of Belfast Celtic is his name!!!!  By the way . that decrepitated 'Shrine' of Windsor has still in tactthe actual piece of terracing that Jones was kicked into - AFTER 60 YEARS... National Stadium? You're having a LAUGH!

Excuse me for asking but............................................ what does decrepitated mean?????

There is no way to know how many Linfield supporters will be ashamed of what happened so it is a silly question. I have read about what happened to that poor man and this year it is 60 years ago. Just because some of the Linfield fans have not moved on does not mean that you shouldnt either.

Dear All.. the fact that the gang of Loyalists were heard to be chanting 'FAMOUS SECTION F' puts to bed any notion that they were not Linfield fans.. Of course all those in the know are aware that SECTION F is / was the nearest point in the upper deck of the North Stand at Windsor Park to the Spion Kop.. Whenever Cliftonville played there in the the 80s and 90s, SECTION F is where the NF skinheads (Lower Shankill UDA - Adair, McCrory et all) gathered to fire snooker balls into the KOP and give the NF salutes.. I think Linfield fans stand guilty...

Shower of Scum!

Blanket statement hurler on the bitch. Not all Linfield fans engaged in this disgusting rampage but some did, and they are as you said scum. In this day and age some people are still Hitler fanatics, the mind boggles.

treasurer, if it doesn't put you in an awkward spot, can you give us a bit of a steer? I was an interviewer more than 50 times last year, if you can give me a broad sense of the position and i have any experience I'd be happy to help or at least try.
a few points that seem to generally apply:
The interviewer wants to fell confidence that if they recommend you for the job they're not going to look like an ass if you fail.
Its always a good idea to tell your interviewer that you appreciate them taking time out of their busy day to be here for an interview whether its true or not.
Introducing yourself and putting it in context of the job that you are their for showing how comfortable you are with the responsibilities of the position and showing that you are personable and can work well in a team right off the bat will ease the next 5 minutes.
Try not to speak down to the interviewer(s), in fact something self-deprecating upfront is another good way to make everyone in the room comfortable.
Remember if you don't look like you believe your story, no-one else is likely to.
I wouldn't go with the cards

No heganboy. Never be insincere during an interview, a savvy interviewer will pick up on that and hold it against you.

Treasurer, practice in front of a mirror a few times and have a couple of friends critique your presentation.

One last thing, make sure you ask if they have any questions at the end. Good luck.

I am not trying to link these these events, but a few years ago I narrowly missed driving in to trouble on two seperate occasions after the usual Old Firm sectarian w**k-fests. Once as I was driving through Short Strand, and the other time at Carlisle Circus. Both times the wee shitbags thought it was a good idea to throw stones and bottles at cars who just happened to be driving by just after the final whistle had blown in Glasgow.

That doesn't make the events on Saturday any less despicable, or indeed the comments of the usual suspects here any less predictable or pathetic.

I am not even going to comment on this thread, it is awful.

Exactly.  I just don't know why we Irish have an attitude of barely concealed glee at others perceived misfortune.  There has been enough inuendo about this matter for all readers to get a picture of exactly you are talking about.  It is probably rubbish, as is most rumours about county players.  Think of the famous Oisín ones.  After that episode we should have learnt our lesson about rumours by now.  The minute you hear a rumour like that, you should see it exactly for what it is -a pathetic attempt by some begrudger to break the heart of someone they are jealous of.  If this rumour is right, we should be hoping the person in question gets back on his feet as soon as possible.  Our county players are our heroes - men who give up their time and energy to succeed wearing our jersey. When they succeed we should be happy for them.  I'm not saying the original poster was gleefully ripping asunder a man's integrity, but be sure that those who took the story and are spreading it round the country are putting their own spin on it for their own purposes.  Each county panel will have its fair share of rumours - and when they go away on tour with wives and girlfriends on tow, it totally feeds the rumour mill.  Clare hurlers suffered from this as did Derry footballers, down footballers - all around salacious stuff, wives in bed with others, women being beaten - all pure dung, but very juicy gossip.  If you hear any rumour like that, just scotch it immediately as vicious jealousy and tell the person who told you that you will say to the subject of the rumour that you heard it from them.  Then watch the colour their cowardly faces change.

Well said seany. Some of the clowns on this thread should be ashamed of themselves.

I got hit on the throat by a golf ball when I was playing in a pro am. My neck was swollen to three times its normal size and I happened to be playing with a doctor and he saved my life.
Four weeks in hospital and one severly damaged windpipe later I got home only to break my ankle when I stood on a tennis ball on our path, i am an only child and I dont play tennis. :'(

That was in september of 2002. 2002 was a very bad year for me, the GF broke off the engagement that year as well.

QuoteI've had a funny feeling of pity for the scousers since the weekend

I don't! Growing up as a United follower in the 80's = never have sympathy for Liverpool. QED!

Nice putting in of the boot without appearing to intend to do so.

Every game is a big one now. If Rooney hits a scoring run it could be the difference and to be honest he's threatening one. Not a clinical striker but on form he will get chances. If he starts taking them someone is in bother!

I agree magpie seanie. Rooney is devastating when on song but he is not a prolific scorer. Rooney is a high work rate guy who can, on occasion score spectacular goals which fuels his reputation but for me it is his work rate that separates him from other footballers.  I expect Rooney to have a hat trick before the end of the season, he is a huge player in the run in for the title/ champions league race.

"STAMFORD, Conn. – In accordance with its Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, WWE has suspended Jeff Hardy for 60 days, for his second violation of the company's policy. "

This is just sad. I am a big fan of his, or rather I was. I cannot allow myself to get sucked in by this guy anymore, he has lost my support however i wish him well. Steroids kill you in the end.
