Well you obviously seem to know alot about this, so why did he get sent-off then?
I don't have to explain anything about why he got sent off just because you quote some Spurs fans story with no proof and absolutly no follow up substance from the ref or all the players involved. And you give an explanation for his sending off that it must have been because Terry said something racist.
Thats a pretty big conspiracy, bigger than a Midlands police conspiracy.

He got sent off for a 2nd yellow, by the ref. A ref who wouldn't be at all shy to take centre stage and highlight any racist remarks.

'The referee's contentious decision to dismiss Terry — for holding on to Ledley King in the home side's area after a deserved booking for a late tackle on Dimitar Berbatov — thwarted Chelsea's hopes of a comeback, while he had earlier disallowed a header by Didier Drogba that would have put the visiting team 2-0 up.'

Yet most of the refereeing fraternity will applaud Poll for standing up to Chelsea's tricks, particularly the lecturing of officials (Michael Ballack) and not retreating 10 yards at free kicks (Makelele and Ashley Cole). Roman Abramovich now has the minor inconvenience of a £25,000 fine for five players being booked. Poll deserves praise for stamping down on cynicism and allowing the game to flow.

That Flag stunt thing had Paisley a made man as top bigot, so he has nothing to regret over that.

http://typhooshaunt.blogspot.com/2008/03/paisley-and-tricolour-riots-of-1964.html

September 27 1964 when the Free Presbyterian cleric issued an 'SOS to all Ulster Protestants' to meet in the Ulster Hall.He told the rally: "If that flag is not removed tomorrow I will organise a march and remove it myself."The effect of Paisley's threat was instantaneous

Within hours a party of 50 RUC members under District Inspector Frank Lagan broke down the door of the Sinn Fein office and seized the flag. Meanwhile, a crowd of several thousand gathered in Divis Street to await Paisley and clashed with police. The next night saw fierce rioting in the district in which buses were set alight and the RUC made several baton charges. A fresh tricolour appeared in the republican HQ on October 1 and this time the RUC broke into the prem-ises with pick axes to remove it.That night Belfast had its worst riots since 1935.

I hope you are directing your criticisms at the relayed information and not me, I have not read RF's book.

It was sourced from a chelsea website. How do you explain the article in the Telegraph?
If you relay hoax information without stating that it is hoax then yes you have to take some responsibility.
That crap is probably available on a thousand websites and has been debunked another thousand times.
There is nothing in the Telegraph article, I do not have to explain anything.
I couldn´t give 2 fs for John Terry.

Just to repeat that the RF book quote is nonsense.
and the sending off racial slur at WHL is also nonsense.

Hmmm. I thought Ronaldo was MOTM in the first half, and couldn't understand why Essien was being hung out to dry on him. However, in the second half, largely due to Chelsea's dominance, he was fairly anonymous, and his workrate was dodgy, in that he rarely bothered tracking Essien, who obviously decided attack is the best form of defence.

Overall, I thought Ronaldo was a 7/10, which is good, but he is still lacking 'something' in his attitude.

IMHO.
The Ronaldo effect was obvious because it was Essien and not Cole in the first half. Fergusen put Ronaldo away from A Cole.
A Cole has easily has the measure of Ronaldo in previous games.

In the 2nd half I think it was J Cole assisted Essien and paid more attention to Ronaldo and marked him out the game until Ronaldo moved more central and regained some potency with a few of his attacking runs.

There is still some response to the story around on the net and having done a short bit of research this is what the story consists of.

Apparently most of the rumours on the internet are based on an email from a supposed Spurs sports journalist who tried to leak the story, the email was posted on the Chelsea messageboard and has been repeated regularly on the net (it will follow).

However here is an official story from the British Telegraph on the 16th November 2006. The incident took place on the 14th November 2006 at a game between Chelsea and Spurs.

England 'race crisis' - Andy Cooper.

"It is understood the football fraternity is aware and shocked at the alleged incident... all the players involved are believed to be keen to see the matter kept under wraps."

The Daily Express, following a story yesterday from The Voice newspaper, reports that Steve McClaren is facing an off-the-field crisis after one of his players was accused of making a "deeply disparaging racial remark" toward a fellow England player.

For legal reasons the players concerned cannot be named but it is understood the incident is alleged to have taken place during a top-flight match in London. And, as the Express says, "such is the seriousness of the accusation that it threatens to eclipse all the other issues McClaren has had to endure in such a short space of time as England boss".

Here is the email from the Spurs sports journalist:

Rumours circulating allege that John Terry told Ledley King to 'Shut up you lippy black monkey' before getting sent off on Sunday. This would explain the following:-

Why King went mad, when normally he is mild tempered and the incident appeared harmless. Why Chimbonda went berserk and had to be physically restrained. Why Zakora went mad, also why Drogba, who was there and always gets involved, did nothing. Why Terry calmly walked away expecting to be sent off for what appeared on TV to be nothing.

Terry was accused by Eto'o of making racist comments in the Barcelona game last year. Apparently a Spurs player has leaked this, but Chelsea are working overtime to keep it quiet. Ashley Cole has said that Poll told him the lack of discipline by Chelsea was out of order and Chelsea are trying to discredit Poll, but he cannot possibly come out and say what Terry did as he is the England captain, preferring to say he was sent off for 'ungentlemanly conduct'.

Finally, Rio Ferdinand said in his book that a current England player was a known racist. Wonder who he meant?
That's  a load of trash.
Not that I care that much which club in London has the biggest shower of fawking cxnts.

"Rio Ferdinand said in his book that a current England player was a known racist"
Have you read the book, do you know somebody who has read the book?
RF writes in his book that a well known player is a racist and the talk is that he is retired now.
No mention of the nationality of the well known player.

"Rumours circulating allege that John Terry told Ledley King to 'Shut up you lippy black monkey' before getting sent off on Sunday"

Sourced from a Spurs website ??? Is that more or less reliable than an Arsenal website?
Again total nonsense.  A total fabrication.

Teams with a fighting chance are usually stuffed, thats why we say they have a fighting chance.
If they put up a fight they have a chance of success in certain circumstances.

40 years ago.  FFS

I remember in the democratic party  primaries Kennedy V Carter,

Carter said that he would not mention Chappaquiddick, that no matter what happened he would not refer to Chappaquiddick,
that it would be a grave injustice to cast aspersion on the good character of Ted by alluding to Chappaquiddick
That Chappaquiddick was in the past and had no bearing today  etc etc

AZ,  it sounds like you are actually defending Micko there. :)

For sure, all innuendoes should be shoved into the dustbin.

It would be a double irony if Wicklow could beat Laois. I think they have a fighting chance.

Use to be that everybody (outside Cavan) took pity on us for our sufferings. :)

It's a good sign of the times that we have made a few twisted enemies from the other counties.
Makes me feel better about the game on Sunday.

Man management is only one ingredient.

If Micko ran up all those championship miles + green shield stamps on just a man management ticket then he truly would be the nr 1 son of God.

QuoteCan u imagine what we would think if Estonia put in a popular puppet Donkey into the competition,

I'd think it was hilarious.

You need a sense of humour.

I agree. People ended up laughing at us, instead of with us. Europe just didnt get the joke.
How could anyone get the joke? it was a poor joke, the turkey couldn't sing, sounded like one long hoarse drawl, lyrics were lost.
It was an awful delivery of a satire.
Without a proper delivery it all looked extremely amateurish and under rehearsed.
The satire was anyway on dodgy ground once it was taken out of a Dublin national school appreciation society.

Every other performance there had been rehearsed to a tee.
